DOCX to PDF – Image Alignment Issues & Alternatives?

Hi everyone,

I'm working on a project where I need to generate quote PDFs that include both dynamic data and images. I’m currently using Advanced Document Templating (DOCX from dynamic template → PDF from DOCX), and while the DOCX file looks great with the images inserted, I’m running into alignment issues when converting it to PDF — the layout shifts and the formatting isn’t consistent.

Has anyone else faced this kind of issue with images during the DOCX-to-PDF conversion?

Also, I’m wondering if HTML to PDF might be a better approach for this use case. If so, does anyone know how I can include images from Appian document folders in the HTML content? I need to add them dynamically, similar to how I’m doing it with DOCX templates.

Any suggestions, experiences, or tips would be really helpful!

Yes, it is a common occurence that there is a loss of fidelity when you convert a docx file to PDF.
