Error Downloading Word Document via Appian Word to PDF Smart Service

When trying to download a Word document from Appian using the Word to PDF Smart Service,the document is successfully parsed data and document is download from the interface.However the document is opened in MS word it throwing error as attached in the thread.

Note:

1. The template uploaded here is in word docx format. There is not security/permission applied on the document.

2. No error is observed on the process model / interfaces.

When using the "Word to PDF" service, I would expect that the outcome is a PDF, but not a DOCX file. Can you help me understand what exactly you are doing?

Exactly! [mention:87d6b53e6fb740ecbc3d50bc21eb0301:e9ed411860ed4f2ba0265705b8793d05] Could you try opening using some PDF viewer instead of MS Word. May be a default application is set to open such files in your system. Also try sharing the file type of the document that you have downloaded.

Assuming this is something not related to Appian but your desktop settings.

Yeah, if you're using "Word to PDF", why are you still trying to open the resulting file in Word?

I have same error however i am using 'Text Doc From Template' smart service and trying to open the file with word app.

I have simple template with 2 placeholders and it is successfully getting downloaded but unable to open it.

Can someone help on this. I could not find more resources on it.

If this is a "text doc" why are you trying to open it in Word? What happens if you open it in a text editor?
What is its extension (and underlying file type) - it sounds like it should be Text, which would not open correctly if Word is expecting a .docx file.
What is the configuration you're using within Appian (filename, etc)?
