How new is your community edition account?

Thank you for the response. My account is about 2 weeks old. I still don't see the Data Store option, and when I try creating a Record Type using "Create Data from Scratch," the option doesn't appear at all (or I get the "data source cannot be reached" error — pick whichever applies to you exactly).
I already emailed communityedition@appian.com as suggested but haven't received a response yet. Could someone please check the provisioning status of my environment?

In your Appian Community Edition instance, after selecting your region, do not click Appian Designer directly from the navigation menu. Instead, you will be presented with a survey that guides you through creating your own workspace. Complete the survey and allow a few minutes for the workspace to be provisioned.

Once the workspace is created, you will receive a confirmation email from Appian Community Edition. You can then navigate through the menu and locate the Cloud Database option, along with your workspace ID.

After creating a new application within this workspace, try creating a record type. You should now see the Create Data from Scratch option available.

Creating a workspace through the survey-driven onboarding process, rather than directly accessing Appian Designer, enables additional features, including the built-in Cloud Database functionality that is otherwise limited in the standard Community Edition experience. Hope this helps!
