Hi All, I have a scenario where I want to use the filter logic configured in a record type by calling the filter on the interface. The filter is functional in the record type object, and I do not want to query record type and add filters indectly by creating a dropdown and linking the filter to that. But, I want a logic through which I can directly call the record type filter on the user interface. Is it possible?
Hi All, I am facing issue with record sync while writing dataset to the database table using write records. This works fine if we sync record manually , data is inserted , we get the primary key back to the process. The record is a simple record with no relationship defined. Going through the community posts , this issue comes when we have BIGINT type of datatypes defined in the table. So need to verify how to solve this issue without changing primary key column from int8/BIGINT to INT, as we need to store the values greater than int4 range in the database. Is there any way to make this sync work?Kindly guide.Attaching the screenshot. Thanks
Hi there, I have a map type process variable (maybe name it as "vv") in a process model, with data like this: {returned=[mat=111, pt=5555, sc=44, bn=EEE],[mat=222, pt=3333, sc=44, bn=III],PopUpText=No records found, LoginStatus=true, connection=xxx} A CDT "returned" is defined with the 4 fields (mat, pt, sc, bn). And I define a CDT process variable "r1" which can store multiple values. can I use the following to get the "returned" data in MAP variable "vv" to CDT variable "r1"? save pv!vv.returned into: pv!ri could anyone know? thanks! Can I ignore case sensitive in Query Record Type as I do automatically in Query Entity? The record type I'm using has data sync enabled and I need to put a validation on a text field to give evidence to the user that there is already a line with the string he is typing. I built the validation into an expression rule that invokes the Query Record Type and I noticed that the filter is case sensitive. Thanks
How could I query a database using a!queryFilter where the field it checks is an integer and would check if the search value is included in the whole integer?e.g. If I searched "123" and one of the record items had an Id that is 123456789, I would like that item to show up in the resulting list.
Hi everyone, I'm having a CDT (CDT01) with fields: {id: int, name: text, information: {id: int, fieldId: int, address: text}} As you can see, the information field contains a different CDT (CDT02) that is nested inside CDT01. I would like to sort a list of CDT01 based on CDT02.fieldId. Is there any solution for that? I tried toDataSubset and dataSubset but seems like I can only index the first layer of the CDT. Thanks for helping :)
Hello, Why and what is better to use data type or record type? Thank you.

Record Type Custom Field Column Creation: We have a one-to-many relationship between two tables and need to retrieve a particular record based on a condition. Please let us know if this is possible using a custom field.
An end-user needs to trigger a process model and act on the user task assigned to them. What is the minimum security permission needed?
Hi all, I have in assumption that to write existing data into db using write record SS we only need the primary id and the field which need to be updated. But i am getting error as there are couple of columns which were marked as required, so i have to add those columns as well along with primary key when using write records . Can anyone suggest if am missing anything or this is how it will work?
Is it possible to redact text from a textField component? I found some plugins for document redaction, but this wouldn't be a document, it's a field that users can fill out and oftentimes will include sensitive information like SSN, account #s, DOB, etc and need to be able to check to see if it includes any private information and redact if necessary.
Hello! I'm curious whether or not the amount of data we pass in and out of an Expression Rule has any impact on performance. Consider the following scenario. I have a pv!recordType process variable, with three fields: recordType.field1, recordType.field2, recordType.field3. I want to use two of those fields in an Expression Rule to obtain an Output to use later in the Process Model. When configuring rule inputs for the Expression Rule, I am facing two options: 1. Pass the whole pv!recordType into the Expression and access the fields within the expression, resulting in one rule input "recordType". 2. Create two separate rule inputs, "field1" and "field2", and access the process variable fields when passing data into the Expression Rule. Now my question is basically this: is there a real difference between these two approaches, or is it a matter of convention?
We are getting an error on PROD saying "Record type is marked as synced, but its data has not yet been synced or its existing synced data has been invalidated. Contact your system administrator". Checked the failed sync reason and it says "Unable to sync due to system failure". And Event type for this error is "Write To source". This happened only on one particular day (17th September) and there is no error before or after that day. We debugged and did not find any exact reason why it happened. The only reason we can see that there was some activity happened on DB side on that day and one of our scheduler Process in Appian runs everyday which updates the data in DB in batching of 65 rows so due to which this error might came. Can anyone please suggest on which logs we can refer to look out for root cause of this failure and find that this issue happened cause of some DB connection or any other reason. In tomcat-stdout.log also did not fou
Our Appian DB has setup for Enhanced Data Pipeline, follow the guide. We have a Python app that run through airflow to query data with a service account, and trying connect to Appian Dev Cloud Database. We're debugging right now on the connection and got this errorpymysql.err.OperationalError:(1045, "Access Denied for user 'appianViewer'@xx.xxx.xx.xxx' (using password: ***)") Is there anyway to connect to the dev DB through local machine to debug on the python library issue?

Hi all, I'm trying to see what is the best way to check if a record already exists in the DB, specifically in a relationship table. I have 3 tables: manager, employess, managers_employess_relationship each manager can have multiple employees. Manager table : ID Name 1 Juan Employees Table ID Name 4 Liza 5 Emily managers_employess_relationship table ( has the foreign keys from both tables) ID Manager_Id Employee_Id 1 1 4 2 1 5 when a manager is adding its employees in a form what is the best way to check if its adding an already assigned employee, for example if manager juan tried to add Liza again, I want to make sure it gives him some type of validation saying that liza is already assigned to hi
Hi Readers, I have two tables Table-A with columns:- ID_A, Job_Role, Company_NameTable-B with columns:- Member_ID, Name, PhoneNumber, ID_A which are related as one to many relations I have created record type for different these tables and added relation ships in the record type as well, Would like to know can we consolidate them as below requirement rows which i want to display are Member_ID Job_Role Company_Name Name Phone_Number 1 DBA ABC.ltd SSR 1234567890 2 DBA ABC.ltd RC 0987654321 3 SysAdmin ABC.ltd NTR 6789054321 4 SysAdmin ABC.ltd RRR 1234567098 5 HR ABC.ltd MB 0984562348 Below are the tables structure Table-A is as below ID_A(PK) Job_Role Company_Name 1 DBA ABC.ltd 2 SysAdmin ABC.ltd 3 HR ABC.ltd Table - B is as below Member_ID Name Phone_Number ID_A(FK) 1 SSR 1234567890 1 2 RC 0987654321 1 3 NTR 6789054321 2 4 RRR 1234567098 2 5 MB 0984562348 3
can we calculate batchsize based on datalength(Bytes) from table and amount of data we retrive from Appian query ? because i have a requirement to send data from multiple tables to API Ex: For one table i have table with 235417 of data in that and datalength is (18366464 Bytes) . As we know we can retrieve only 1MB(1000000Bytes) of data at a time from query entity , So i am expecting my batch size should be dynamically decided based on datalength(18366464) and amount of data retrived at a time (1000000bytes) to send whole data in chunks . If i give hardcore value as 10k or 5k this may again cause issue for some other table with large data or large column . So my thought is it's better to decide batchsize dynamically based on tablelength
Hi, I have a read only grid with recordType as data source. The total records are N, more than 5000. I have the need to show a column in the grid with a progressive index, from 1 to N. Is there a way to achieve this using the recordType and without loosing some functionalities like user filters, excel export, etc.? Thanks!
I am uploading a csv file with a cdate type column, I changed the format in the csv to be "yyyy-mm-dd" which coincides with the format shown in cloud database. However when I upload it the column with date is not uploading correctly. The rest of the columns are OK except for that one. Any help would be useful. Thanks!
Hi! I´m trying to import a CSV to Appian via Cloud Database When I finish to enter my data and try to import, the following error appears: It seems like the table has been created but I have no access for some reason/permissions (I´m the admin of my site so I don´t know what to do). I wanted to ask: 1) ¿How can I correct fix this error? 2) ¿Is this the correct way to create a database in appian from a CSV? Thanks a lot
I have a record with all text columns, even the integer/decimal data is being saved in text type fields. In appian I want to sort ascending/descending properly but it is taking the ASCII value of string & sorting them on that basis. Is there any work around in "gridField" with data as recordType?
Hello, We are testing the waters for a DB migration. ( MySQL to Amazon RDS ). Within one of our environments, we plan to make a copy of our existing apps, and point the copies to the new DB for testing purposes. We realized this would entail updated all object references for the copied objects, which is labor intensive. Is there a tool tailored for this scenario, or a better approach we could try? Thanks.
