No data loaded in record-based grid

It's difficult to understand your question, but if you could share how your code is being loaded and clarify what you mean by search (filter or something else), along with your code, We can help you better.
My initial understanding is: Set a default value for your filter variable or make filters conditional so the grid loads all data initially.

Please share a minimal example showing this behaviour.
