Why Custom task report?

We already  have tasks in tempo that displays the pending tasks with basic details

then we have task report where we can get the list of tasks and can edit what we need to display.

Then what is the concept of custom task report and when should we consider using it?

Hello Natasha,

The reason behind this is :

The task list under the task tab of tempo is specific to tempo only we can't reuse it anywhere but users with focused work are referred to use the site instead of tempo in that case task report use inside sites as a report to get task details

    Hi Natasha,

    Below are the few requirements considered for custom task report.

    Custom task reports can be configured separately and used in the sites. Some of the apps are configured in sites which is specific to the particular department/portfolio. In those scenarios custom tasks reports can be used. Also users can apply filters. Based on the department(groups), status(Assigned, Pending, Completed) date etc ..and filter the tasks using custom task reports.

    Just to be clear, we should consider having a custom task report only when we have a site and we want to display the user tasks in the site itself.

    Does it have any other use?

    Hi Natasha,

    Yes  we consider having a custom task report only when we have a site and we want to display the user tasks in the site itself.

    Also the Appian object we designed for displaying the custom task report , can be reused in other places .(by calling the object). Again this is based on your project use case.
