KB-1998 Certificate error when accessing an Appian Cloud site with a custom domain
Symptoms
After a domain name change in Appian Cloud, the following warning is witnessed while trying to reach the Appian site:

Your connection is not private
Attackers might be trying to steal your information from <SITE_DOMAIN> (for example, passwords, messages or credit cards).
NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID
Cause
During the process of a domain name change, Appian Technical Support provides customers with a CNAME. This issue occurs when the CNAME on the customer side is not correctly configured.
Action
To resolve the issue, confirm that the CNAME value matches the value provided by Appian Technical Support.

This article applies to all versions of Appian Cloud.
