KB-2214 System administrators can see site tabs when site visibility is false

This issue has been resolved in an Appian hotfix/new Appian version. Please apply the latest hotfix to your Appian installation or upgrade to the latest version of Appian.

Symptoms

System administrators are able to see site pages even though site visibility is set to false.

Cause

This issue has been hotfixed via AN-128790 in the following versions:

20.4.600.0
21.1.275.0
21.2 GA

Action

For Appian versions 20.4 and later, apply the latest hotfix. For Appian versions 20.3 and earlier, upgrade to the latest version of Appian.

Workaround

Self-Managed

Set the following property in custom.properties: appian.feature.sitePageVisibilityAppliedToSysAdmin.enabled=true

Cloud

Open a case with Appian Technical Support to have the above property enabled.

Affected Versions

This article applies to Appian 21.2 and earlier.
