KB-1556 Appian Health Check fails with a 401 unauthorized error


While running the Health Check application, the Health Check fails to connect to Appian Forum with the following error, even though the same credentials have worked successfully in the past:

The password for the Health Check service account has expired. Service account passwords expire every 365 days and need to be reset.


  1. Attempt to log into https://forum.appian.com/suite/portal/login.jsp using your current Service Account credentials. If prompted, update your password.
  2. If you are unable to change the password, submit a case with Appian Technical Support to request a password reset for the Health Check service account.
