Can we use ReactJS UI components in Appian?

I think this level of customization is not possible in Appian interfaces, I can't see there is any component that will allow you to use your own custom React code.

You cannot. Unless you get a plugin created for it using Appian's JS libraries and then use it. Or you can use web views to some extent but it won't support exchange of data
