Card Choices Component background color configuration issue

Question

Well, there is the reference of a!cardChoiceField. https://docs.appian.com/suite/help/25.1/card-choices-component.html
The component itself is amazing. However it has one big defect, which is: you cannot (at least easily) change its card's background color. I would like to be able to keep the interface's background color on its default (as it is), and change the choice card background color to gray, black, blue, etc. So only, the card choice should get the customization.
I've searched a lot and I didn't find any hint or previous usage on this.
Does anyone have any idea in mind on what to do about it? I would like like this to be possible and if it's not, it should be implemented on a next version of the component.
This is for UX/UI purposes.

This component does not support custom background color as of now. I am sure this is somewhere in the product enhancement backlog.

You could replicate the behaviour using cards. They do support a custom background color.
