dropdown in an interface having actions

Hi,

The requirement - Have a dropdown in an interface say -> facility with values 1,2,3. Once I select a facility say "1", I shall show some grids and other objects below with links to other processes and interfaces, in the same interface. I click on any process link on the interface, complete my action and click on go back. I will come back to my first interface with the dropdown will the value that I selected initially -" facility 1" be still there or will it be refreshed. Is there a way to keep it on the selected value.
