Hi Everyone,

I created a service account with user type as "Basic User". And I was supposed to change the user type to "System Administrator" and I got the following expression error. I have tried this scenario via Admin Console and Appian version is 22.2 . Is this an expected behavior? Thanks in advance!

Using a sys admin account for a service account seems awkward. I would not recommend doing this.

It complains about an empty email field. Did you check that?

Yes. I did check it. But, When I was creating a service account from Admin console, I was not asked to enter email id. So, I did not provide the same.

I think you are on the wrong way to creating a service account

    I follow these steps:

    1. Go to the admin console
    2. see AUTHENTICATION
    3. below AUTHENTICATION, click on the Web API Authentication
    4. select API keys
    5. Click on create button
    6. after that
    7. Then create it. I hope your query resolved

This seems like a bug, I'd suggest opening a support ticket to report this. Thanks!

Additionally you can utilize the Change User Type service or a!updateUserType() function in a process, both ship OOTB.
