KB-1977 FitNesse scripts fail to run with "XX.X is not a supported version" error

Symptoms

FitNesse scripts fail to run with the following error observed in the application server log:

Caused by: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: XX.X is not a recognized version

Cause

The FitNesse version must be equivalent to or greater than the Appian version. For example, FitNesse 18.2 can run on Appian 18.2 or earlier, but it cannot run on Appian 18.3 or later.

Action

Install the newest version of FitNesse.

Affected Versions

This article applies to all versions of FitNesse.
