New to Appian

Hello, I am working on upgrading the version of our on-premise.(21.1 -> 21.2) And when following the "Stopping the Application Suite on Linux" (https://docs.appian.com/suite/help/20.4/Starting_and_Stopping_Appian.html#stopping-the-application-suite-on-linux) after executing the "5. status.script", I am getting the message like the picture bellow. How can I get it solved? Thank you very much for all of your help.

Hi, I have designed one GRID where I am successfully able to capture the selected value. I am using Processstart link to update the EmpSubType column. My Requirement is: The selected value should be captured as soon as I am clicking any random EmpSubType(I do not want to first tick the check box and click on EmpSubType value . ) The selected value is getting captured correctly when I am selecting any row and then clicking the SubType. I am not selecting the check box first and then selecting any EmpSubType randomly then Start Process Link is taking a wrong value. I am pasting my codes here: Could someone please help me here? Hello, I wanted to upgrade my on-premise Appian version from 21.1 to 21.2. But after trying to upgrade,  I started Appian, (https://docs.appian.com/suite/help/21.1/Starting_and_Stopping_Appian.html#starting-the-application-suite-on-linux) and keep getting the screen like the picture bellow. From the logs I found an ERROR message like bellow. [download-stats-gateway] ERROR com.appian.komodo.gateway.handler.RemoteBootstrapHandler - error occurred in [id: 0x2ef44e3f, L:/127.0.0.1:5010 - R:/127.0.0.1:51388]  due to: the connection is lost by the other side How can I solve this? Hello, I found out that there are 4 types[Action, Interface, Record List, Report] in the Pages part of the Site object, but the Interface type is not visible in our DEMO site.Interface. 1. [Pages] of Site object 2. Interface type which should exist. 3. Not seeing Interface type. How can I get the Interface type to show?

Hi, I am displaying a table in a Read only grid based on Drop down selection from another table. I am able configure update Emp  action in  Emp type in drop down as I am catching Primary key but I want to configure the same in the Grid for updating the Emp Sub Type. For one Emp in drop down there are few sub types getting displayed in Grid. This grid has also Primary key associated for sub type table. I want to catch Primary for one selected row to use update action on Sub EMP type in GRID. Could someone help me here plz how to do? Hello,  I am studying process model and have question on the user input task. From the Assignments tab --> options --> When executing more than once, there should be one-to-one assignment of task instances to assignee's. what is the function of "When executing more than once, there should be one-to-one assignment of task instances to assignee's" ? Hi, I have a Process model for HR approval. In the form I am capturing cancel and submit button values in a text rule input (buttonValues). But when HR is cancelling the button the flow gets completed which I do not want to happen as the task not completed. I want the flow to stay at the same position so that approver can again complete his task. could someone please help me here how to achieve my goal? Thanks Faisal

I have followed the step-by-step on creating a new action for Add Vehicle, after clicking the URL link and entering new data for new vehicle, then click on the ADD VEHICLE button, the data does not get saved in the vehicle table. If I run the process model for the Add Vehicle, the new vehicle gets added successfully. Please advice. Thanks.

Hi All,  I am new to Appian, I would like to know what are support provided for backward compatibility.  If we have created an app using Appian latest version, later if we have a new release, then does it affects the working app or there will no impact.  Additionally, how can we check the frequency of new releases, Where can we get information regarding version backward compatible. How may version are backward compatible with new release. ? Do appian charges for every release?

For example I made a process where I send an email that already has an html template and replace the input with a dictionary with data to be sent. But when it is sent my table that is in the template gets ";" over the table as I'm going to show you here. Someone knows why he put the ";"

Hi , I am using below codes in Filter. filter:if(isnull(local!empType),{},a!queryFilter( field: "emptype", operator: "=", value: local!empType )) It is displaying the error as  "Could not display interface. Please check definition and inputs. Interface Definition: Expression evaluation error at function a!gridField [line 37]: Expression evaluation error at function a!queryEntity [line 38]: Cannot apply a filter with a blank field name." This is working fine when I am using ri!empType with some default value. But I do not want to use Rule input as I need to use this Interface in report. Could someone please help me on this? Hi, I have two drop downs. Upon selection in first Drop Down a list of values getting populated in 2nd Drop down. First time when I am selecting value in 1st DD it is working fine in 2nd DD. But when I am changing the choice in First DD I am getting below error. I have checked data are present correctly in DB. It looks like upon changing selection in 1st DD the values are not getting changed in 2nd DD or refreshed. Could some help me please? Error: Could not display interface. Getting Error message: error in an expression in Process model properties at process start form : neither variable(s) or rule(s)  found: size Having problem with process model and being unable to access site page made with application what may be the problem? and how to solve it? thank you.

Greetings All, I manually created three tables using the Cloud Database tool.  I specified the primary key, foreign keys and populated the tables with data. I then created an application.  I created Data Types, Data Stores and Records.  I then created an grid interfaces and I was able to see my data. After some thoughts about how I named the application and if I should have select 'From Scratch', I DELETED the application. I then created a new application and started to create a Data Type (or is it Custom Data Type) to connect to the existing physical tables I previously used. I then discovered that my tables (along with the data) are now gone. I am guessing I did something wrong.  If I had five applications using the same tables, it would seem counterproductive to have all of the physical tables being deleted because I deleted one application that refers to them. Greetings All, Now that I am able to create a CDT, I immediately see that I have some decisions to make with respect to what the UI looks like.  In my world, we have reservations with various pickup and dropoff types.  Previously, I have just thrown them all into one reservation table/record and used pickup_type = A, F, T, P and dropoff_type = A, F, T, P to show or hide different datawindows to display the data as necessary. For one reservation that I display the pickup or dropoff type could be: 'A' = Address 'F' = Flight 'T' = Train 'P' = Private Jetport Here is an example of Pickup Type = A / Dropoff Type = F (DROP AT AIRPORT): And here is an example of Pickup Type = A and Dropoff Type = A (DROP AT ADDRESS): I would like to create interfaces that show the screens mocked up as above.  Obviously, the dropoff layout for an address is laid out very different from dropoff layout for an airport.  And of course they use differe

Greetings All, I am not seeing this error when I search the community so I am asking for help here. I created a CDT from a table called Trip.  Now I am trying to create a User Interface as a Read-Only Grid.  I am prompted to select the data source and I select Record Type.  I type in the name of the CDT and I see it as an option.  When I select it, I get the error as shown in the subject line.  Below is a screenshot of the error.  Any help will be appreciated.  Best, Paul
