Hello everyone,  I have recently joined a company with the role of a Senior QA Automation Engineer. I am going to be building an automation framework with Cucumber for Appian and I have a few questions.  I have finished downloading the Cucumber API files and after importing into IntelliJ I notice that all of the core code is pretty much in the jar. Do you suggest that this jar be extracted so that I am able to make changes to the code if needed? Are there ever times that it may be necessary to add or modify any of the methods? I am used to building a Cucumber framework from scratch and writing the step definitions and background code so this is very new to me. Let me give an example: Assume that I wanted to do some feature that had too many parameters to be practical for an examples section in a feature file. Hi, I have developed an application from scratch in a Trial Environment which has been expired now.I have exported the application zip before the trial expired. Now I want to import the same application into a new trial environment. But somehow the Inspect says all my 33 objects will be imported but when  I click on the Import Package button only groups are getting imported and the rest all are getting failed. Hi, I have designed one GRID where I am successfully able to capture the selected value. I am using Processstart link to update the EmpSubType column. My Requirement is: The selected value should be captured as soon as I am clicking any random EmpSubType(I do not want to first tick the check box and click on EmpSubType value . ) The selected value is getting captured correctly when I am selecting any row and then clicking the SubType. I am not selecting the check box first and then selecting any EmpSubType randomly then Start Process Link is taking a wrong value. I am pasting my codes here: Could someone please help me here? Hello, I wanted to upgrade my on-premise Appian version from 21.1 to 21.2. But after trying to upgrade,  I started Appian, (https://docs.appian.com/suite/help/21.1/Starting_and_Stopping_Appian.html#starting-the-application-suite-on-linux) and keep getting the screen like the picture bellow. From the logs I found an ERROR message like bellow. Hi, I am displaying a table in a Read only grid based on Drop down selection from another table. I am able configure update Emp  action in  Emp type in drop down as I am catching Primary key but I want to configure the same in the Grid for updating the Emp Sub Type. For one Emp in drop down there are few sub types getting displayed in Grid. This grid has also Primary key associated for sub type table. I want to catch Primary for one selected row to use update action on Sub EMP type in GRID. Could someone help me here plz how to do? Hello,  I am studying process model and have question on the user input task. From the Assignments tab --> options --> When executing more than once, there should be one-to-one assignment of task instances to assignee's. what is the function of "When executing more than once, there should be one-to-one assignment of task instances to assignee's" ? Hi, I have a Process model for HR approval. In the form I am capturing cancel and submit button values in a text rule input (buttonValues). But when HR is cancelling the button the flow gets completed which I do not want to happen as the task not completed. I want the flow to stay at the same position so that approver can again complete his task. could someone please help me here how to achieve my goal? Thanks Faisal

I have followed the step-by-step on creating a new action for Add Vehicle, after clicking the URL link and entering new data for new vehicle, then click on the ADD VEHICLE button, the data does not get saved in the vehicle table. If I run the process model for the Add Vehicle, the new vehicle gets added successfully. Please advice. Thanks.

Hi All,  I am new to Appian, I would like to know what are support provided for backward compatibility.  If we have created an app using Appian latest version, later if we have a new release, then does it affects the working app or there will no impact.  Additionally, how can we check the frequency of new releases, Where can we get information regarding version backward compatible. How may version are backward compatible with new release. ? Do appian charges for every release?

For example I made a process where I send an email that already has an html template and replace the input with a dictionary with data to be sent. But when it is sent my table that is in the template gets ";" over the table as I'm going to show you here. Someone knows why he put the ";"

Hi , I am using below codes in Filter. filter:if(isnull(local!empType),{},a!queryFilter( field: "emptype", operator: "=", value: local!empType )) It is displaying the error as  "Could not display interface. Please check definition and inputs. Interface Definition: Expression evaluation error at function a!gridField [line 37]: Expression evaluation error at function a!queryEntity [line 38]: Cannot apply a filter with a blank field name." This is working fine when I am using ri!empType with some default value. But I do not want to use Rule input as I need to use this Interface in report. Could someone please help me on this? Hi, I have two drop downs. Upon selection in first Drop Down a list of values getting populated in 2nd Drop down. First time when I am selecting value in 1st DD it is working fine in 2nd DD. But when I am changing the choice in First DD I am getting below error. I have checked data are present correctly in DB. It looks like upon changing selection in 1st DD the values are not getting changed in 2nd DD or refreshed. Could some help me please? Error: Could not display interface.
