Is there a way to sort a record dataset after it's been queried? I have a list of records I got from a queryRecordType stored in a local variable that I am using in multiple places on an interface. I only want the record dataset to be sorted in a particular way for only one instance on the interface, but I want to leave it alone in all other instances, so I don't want to sort the data set within the initial queryRecordType call in the local variable. The only solution I've thought of is query the record again but this time sort it the way I want and store it in a new local variable or write my own expression rule to be able to sort records. I am not allowed to install plug-ins on my environment by the way. Thanks!
Hi, I need to store multiple records in a single table of the database. Is this possible using "Write to Data Store Entity" or do I need to use "Write to Multiple Data Store Entity". Thanks
Dear All, In my earlier project I was using Appian On-premise and Oracle RBDMS, and in current project am using Appian cloud and Maria DB. Am not understanding one scenario, which worked in earlier project and not working in current project. Can some one help me understand this ? Scenario: > There is DB table "Employee" created in DEV & QA. > There is an existing Datastore "DS_TA BLE" in both DEV & QA. > Created a CDT "employee_test" in DEV (From existing Table) and the Data store Entity is mapped and verified automatically. > When I deploy this CDT to QA, Why the Datastore Entity mapping is not happening automatically ?
So I have an interface with a grid that allows the user to preview or download a document. I want to hide the preview button if the file extension of the document is pdf. Initially I was going to use showWhen but I wondered if a!foreach would also work? I tried to use the document() function to get the extension, but I realized it only displays it and doesn't retrieve it. This is what I have for the preview button so far. I haven't configured the download button yet. a!buttonWidget( label: "", icon: "eye", tooltip: "View", value: true(), saveInto: { local!preview, a!save(local!selectedDocument, fv!row) } )
I want to sync the User record that is already exists in appian eviroment.i got the error sync record smart service.
Inside Summary View of Record when clicked on Related Action to edit the record, dialog box is not displayed inspite of that task is getting assigned in tempo inside task tab.
I have a simple stored proc as following. DELIMITER $$CREATE DEFINER=`dbadmin`@`%` PROCEDURE `Test_TruncateTable`(IN `spTableName` TEXT) MODIFIES SQL DATA COMMENT 'Truncates staging table.'BEGIN TRUNCATE TABLE spTableName; END$$DELIMITER ; The procedure won't get executed, it throw's following error. #1. #2. I tried changing the IN parameter to VARCHAR etc. but no luck. In past I have wrote more complicated procedures having multiple parameters however never run into the above mentioned error.
Hi, Is it possible to pass the entity name dynamically or using the table in query entity? May be have some rule which will take the table name and return the data store entity. Regards, Mukesh
Hi all, I want to replace each "trackerID" from local!test - local!test4 variables with a correct trackerId from local!Ids. Current values in dummyCDT are indexes of their corresponding IDs in local!Ids array.local!Ids values are {24912; 24913; 24914} a!localVariables( local!test: 'type!{urn:com:appian:types:DBS}DBS_Tracker'(trackerID: 1), local!test2: 'type!{urn:com:appian:types:DBS}DBS_Tracker'(trackerID: 2), local!test3: 'type!{urn:com:appian:types:DBS}DBS_Tracker'(trackerID: 2), local!test4: 'type!{urn:com:appian:types:DBS}DBS_Tracker'(trackerID: 3), local!dummyCDT: union(union(local!test, local!test2), union(local!test3 ,local!test4)), local!Ids: index(ri!tracker, "trackerID", null), a!update( data: local!dummyCDT, index: "trackerID", value: index( local!Ids, local!dummyCDT.trackerID, null ) ), ) Is it possible to achievable this way?
I created a new Schema/Database in our cloud database. . However, when I try to connect to the database in my new application (Data Store), it does not show up.
I recently got an error that said this:"The list of records to be saved must not be null or empty: TypedValue[it=3145,v={}] Data: TypedValue[it=3145,v={}] "But how can I identify which field or type its referring to?I assume that "it=3145" is a particular type or field identifier but I don't know how to look it up. I wish it would should an actual name in the error message instead of an ID / "it".
We have a requirement where we display/hide the related actions for a particular record based on the approval or rejection of tasks. We are observing that the even though the record grid data is getting refreshed when we click on the refresh button, but the related actions are not getting refreshed. Please find a sample snippet of the code:- a!gridField( labelPosition: "ABOVE", data: a!recordData( recordType: recordType!SampleRecord, filters: rule!SampleFilterRule() ), columns: { a!gridColumn(), a!gridColumn( value: a!recordActionField( actions: { a!recordActionItem( action: recordType!SampleRecord.actions.SampleAction, identifier: fv!row[SampleMetric.identifier] ) } ) ) }, validations: {}, spacing: "DENSE", borderStyle: "LIGHT", shadeAlternateRows: false, rowHeader: 1, refreshOnVarChange: ri!refreshVariable, refreshAfter: "RECORD_ACTION", showSearchBox: true, showRefreshButton: true(), showExportButton: false,) What can I do to resolve this?
In SQL I would write something like this:SELECT * FROM parent WHERE parent_id NOT IN (SELECT parent_id_fk FROM child)or SELECT * FROM parent WHERE NOT EXISTS (SELECT 1 FROM child WHERE parent_id_fk = parent_id) In Appian expression language I can find children with no parents by finding records with null in the relationship as described here:https://docs.appian.com/suite/help/22.4/fnc_system_a_queryfilter.html#using-a-relationship-reference-in-the-field-parameter The example in the documentation is like so: a!queryRecordType( recordType: recordType!Employee, filters: a!queryFilter( field: recordType!Employee.relationships.teams, operator: "not null" ), pagingInfo: a!pagingInfo( startIndex: 1, batchSize: 100 ) ).data However this is not what I want, I want to find parents with no children.I think it might look something like this: a!queryRecordType( recordType: recordType!Parent, filters: a!queryFilter( field: recordType!Parent.fiel
Hi everyone, I need to pass a list of INT into a parameter of a stored procedure which should look like this: UPDATE table01 SET updatedDate = now() WHERE ID in (list of ids that I will pass in); However the parameter type only accept INT, not list of INT, so not sure how can I achieve that. Any suggestion will be much appreciated :)
What should I type in the expression editor in order to set initial value to a record as shown in the pic? I have tried typing the first couple letters but it seems that the Applian does not recognize them as affiliated functions of a record.
Hi all, I'm dabbling with some "serious" QueryRecordType interface use for the first time in a bit, and for the first time I'm attempting to use the built-in Aggregation. My use case: a simple one, basically showing a grid sorted by frequency of use of a potentially repeating column. I'm using Aggregation Fields and grouping by that column, while doing a "count" in a measure. When I run this a!queryRecordType() in an expression rule it works beautifully. I notice: it returns an a!map() data result rather than a DataSubset. Then I try to plug it into a Read-Only Grid and things start going a bit haywire. If I try to use it as you normally would use a RecordType source, the grid errors with a complaint about returning List Data. If I try to run the query in a Local Variable first, it doesn't quite work right, because with the local variable not resolving as a DataSubset, the grid doesn't quite recognize what info I'm try
Hi, I need to know from which Appian version it's possibile using recordActionField in a gridColumn of a read-only grid with a queryEntity as data source. I need this functionality to start a related action showed in a dialog and remaining in the same interface, same status, after close it. Thanks
Hi. I am experimenting with data fabric features and building record views Expression Base record types with Sync On. I have 'Queue' Record type and 'Queue Item' Record type in 1:M relation. In a 'Queue' list, I need to see number of related 'Queue Items'. I have created a column for that, see below. However, the highest number it can count is 10, then it stops counting. I guess that this is caused by logic to related to logic described here: https://docs.appian.com/suite/help/21.3/fnc_system_relatedrecorddata.html (..Number of related records to return. Valid values include 1-10..) My question is, if there is some way around this? Simple count procedure should imo not be difficult enough to cause performance issues, especially in my case when the number of 'Queue' record types is low. Thanks, column definition that only returns 10: a!gridColumn( label: "Number of items in Q", sortField: 'recordType!{3c05c063-58d
So I have a read-only grid displayed on a site through an interface. The summary is also displayed through an interface, and the summary of a record is pictured below. What I want to do is add a button, going to the next or previous record so that the user doesn't have to click the home button in the top-left. I found this thread but wasn't sure how to apply it to my situation (not completely sure how to apply a!query): community.appian.com/.../access-to-previous-and-next-records
I want to do this get value from multiple select as newRefs;insert into table1 ('name') values ('pete');SELECT LAST_INSERT_ID() as newUserId;for each (currentRef in newRef) { insert into lookupTable1 (userId,ref) values (newUserId,currentRef);} Actually there is a quicker way to do this with MySQL/MariaDB as noted here https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/8.0/en/insert.html What do I need to do this?Do I use Data Store Entities, Record Types, etc.?I can't be the first one that want to do something like this.
So, I have a record action to delete a "contractor" from a list of contractors I've created with a record type. After deletion is complete, it displays this: Ideally, I'd like it to display something else, like: "Contractor successfully removed", or "Contractor successfully deleted." Is that something that's possible? This message is displayed on a site that a read-only grid is displayed on.
Hello, I want to be able to retrieve my Records in an a!hierarchyBrowserFieldColumns, including the record relationships. I already created a Query Recordtype retrieving my data including the relationships data. Is there a simple way to display the record type list in a a!hierarchyBrowserFieldColumns. in the firstColumnValues i'am using a the id of the record. what is the next step? ( nextColumnValues). any examples using a record? Here is a example from: docs.appian.com/.../Columns_Browser_Component.html a!localVariables( local!path: {4,2}, local!selection: 2, a!hierarchyBrowserFieldColumns( firstColumnValues: enumerate(9), nodeConfigs: a!hierarchyBrowserFieldColumnsNode( id: fv!nodeValue, label: "Node" & fv!nodeValue, image: a!documentImage(document: a!iconIndicator("PREVIEW")), isDrillable: 1 - mod(fv!nodeValue, 2), isSelectable: mod(fv!nodeValue, 3), nextColumnCount: fv!nodeValue ), pathV
I want to update a row when save to data store entity instead of generate a new row with a new id.I cofigured write to data store entity of output tab (plz check my attached screenshot) When In debug and check my Id did not get id value.
Here are my record types: Why am I getting the following error message when I try the expression out? Expression evaluation error at function a!queryRecordType [line 5]: The field [recordType!SS Item.relationships.ssLookupCategoryItem.fields.categoryId] used as a sort field was invalid. You must reference the field from the related record type in "relationship". This query works fine when in the Cloud Database area/*select * from SS_LOOKUP_CATEGORY_ITEM, SS_ITEM,SS_CATEGORY where SS_LOOKUP_CATEGORY_ITEM.ITEM_ID=SS_ITEM.ID AND SS_LOOKUP_CATEGORY_ITEM.CATEGORY_ID=SS_CATEGORY.ID*/
