Hi team, I am trying to save data in Appian db. I am using the records to fetch the data. I have created a record action for data creation too but that is not working fine. When I click on the above create suite option, it opens up a form like below:- The expression rule for the above form is given below- [At line 16th, If I put value: local!UUID, it does not works but if I put value: ri!record.uuid, I am able to save the data in db. But I want to save a auto generated UUID and hence used local variable] a!localVariables( local!UUID: rule!BTUA_GenerateUUID_Expression(), a!formLayout( label: "Create Suite", contents: { a!columnsLayout( columns: { a!columnLayout( contents: { a!textField( readOnly: true, label: "Uuid", labelPosition: "ABOVE", required: true, value: local!UUID, saveInto: ri!record.uuid, charac

Hi Team, We have a grid which shows data from record type where we pull data from DB table. We have a column which is integer in DB table but in the grid we have shown the value with a text prefix. We want to search the grid with the value shown in grid. Example -- In table the value is stored as 123, we are showing in grid as TXT123. I want to search the grid with the value "TXT123". While searching it does not show any value but with 123 it returns me the row. Please let me know if we can search the grid with value TXT123 and how to do it. We would want inbulit feature of Appian grid search. Thanks in advance
Hi All, I am using an existing table which is having around 61 lakh something data as a source to my record. There is no particular source filter to add so I have added filter to my primary key to display record within appian's sync limit. But while I am using search Text in record I am not getting the value which is beyond the source filter limit. Is there any solution to overcome this issue. Thanks & Regards, Kavya
Hello, I'm new, I need your help to know if there is a way to populate the Section Layout information as in the image from the id of a related field. What I have tried is to create a local variable, but I don't know how to put that value in the expression (see the image).
HI all. I'm wondering how can I create my own data to use them while creating my application? or should I create them outside, then import them to Appian?

I'm trying to integrate my data from external link, but when I test it. it show me this: The requested URL cannot be found error-result-guidance The external system did not find the requested URL or is refusing to allow access HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found Next Steps Make sure that the URL is correct Make sure you are using the correct credentials for this external system Check the request and response for more details Review the external system's documentation for information on what may have caused the problem
Hi, we use a query entity to retrieve decimal numbers to check data inserted. After testing, we see that Appian have a strange behaviour with decimal digits, according to the integer digits of the number. For example, when we insert a number with 5 integer digits, it shows 2 decimal digit, while, when we insert a number of 6 integer digits, it shows 1 decimal digit. With 7 (or more) integer digits, no decimal digits are visible. This is not a DB problem, because, if I use an expression rule, with a conversion on decimal number, I get the same problem. Here some examples: I try also "fixed" function, but sometimes it doesn't works. Is there a workaournd to get the right value? Thanks. Regards. Juri Monti
Hello. I'm wondering about the kind of database that Appian provides. Is it Mysql, or Oracle?
Hello everyone, I have a question that table function is created in the database with set of columns and How will I use the table function in appian with some parameters? Can anyone please help me to further proceed? Thanks in advance.
I just wanted to delete certain transactions from the table after 30days.
Hi All, We were using an entity backed record previously but the search filter is not working for that case. It is a view from DB so we directly use that as a DB source also we disable the sync option to get view as source. Now we are facing filter and sorting issues. Can anyone suggest solution for this. when user pick a value in search field it is not available for display but it is available in view. Is there anyway we can apply source filters but search field filter will work to all values. Thanks & Regards, Kavya

Hi, fairly new to appian and I'm trying to use type! to get the type value of a string array. I'm currently using typeof({"A", "B"}) which is working, but seems very clunky. I'm sure there's a better way. Any help? Thanks!
Hi, I would like to inform you that I am using Import Excel to Database smart service. I have able to insert data to database successfully but it is always inserting 1000 rows (the default value of Batch Size) though I have set the Batch Size to 40. It is inserting 960 rows extra with 0 or null values along with the valid 40 rows. Can anyone please help me regarding it. Following is the screenshot: Is there any link of proper documentation for Import Excel to Database smart service? Can you please share the document link with me?
Hi Community, I need to replace the XSD file of certain CDT to retrieve its data from different Data store. My XSD file: <xsd:schema xmlns:xsd="">www.w3.org/.../XMLSchema" xmlns:tns="urn:com:appian:types:TFO" targetNamespace="urn:com:appian:types:TFO"> <xsd:complexType name="TFO_REF_CRS_Status"> <xsd:annotation> <xsd:appinfo source="appian.jpa">@Table(name="CRSStatus")</xsd:appinfo> </xsd:annotation> <xsd:sequence> <xsd:element name="id" nillable="true" type="xsd:int"> <xsd:annotation> <xsd:appinfo source="appian.jpa">@Id @GeneratedValue @Column(name="PkCRSStatus_Id", nullable=false, unique=true, columnDefinition="INT")</xsd:appinfo> </xsd:annotation> </xsd:element> <xsd:element name="name" nillable="true" type="xsd:string"> <xsd:annotation>
I am working on an app to lookup tracking numbers from a vendor portal. I get an excel file everyday that I have uploaded into Appian using "Import Excel to database." What I need to do now is walk through the table line by line and pull the Order Number, pass it to the RPA tool to input into vendor site, retrieve the tracking number, and write it back to the column in the table. Whats the best way to tackle this? a loop function in the process model? a loop function in the RPA? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I have a text of pv value like { "user" = "ABC", "class" = "EFG",.....} this and i want this to store into cdt to the related names [ user : "ABC", class : "EFG"]
We are currently working on a POC and need your help/guidance on below questions 1) User submits a request on the UI and it is logged into various DB tables (Appian MariaDB) and we will have another approach to load this data into the Appian Database directly - consider these are some sort of reference data. Now we need to expose this data via a Web API and consumers can call this API 3 million times a day. Need your help to validate the scalability or any performance impact of the Appian Web API if we have such requests ? 2) Is there any way where we can modify the CDT and publish the Data store automatically? 3) Is there any way where the decision objects can be modified automatically ? (instance where decision need to change for a particular row, and business user can do that without any development effort)
I am trying to upgrade appian records to utilize v 21.2 features. Data source, list, sync has been done up without errors. However, when I passed in rv!records into the SummaryView interface (old), when I go into the list and click into the appID, i will be faced with this error - An Error Has Occurred ???APNX-1-4205-046??? (APNX-1-4205-046). Or will i have to refactor summaryView to utilize dot notations? I kinda tried it but its not really working as well. Do let me know if you require more information? a!localVariables( local!serviceArea: â`œxxxâ`%9D, rule!SummaryView( refAppId: rv!record['recordType!{xxx}Applications Upgrade.fields.{xxx}pid'], owner: rv!record['recordType!{xxx}Applications Upgrade.fields.{xxx}owner'], assignedTo: rv!record['recordType!{xxx}Applications Upgrade.fields.{xxx}assignedTo'], status: rv!record['recordType!{xxx}Applications Upgrade.fields.{xxx}refStatusId'], isMyGrantRecord: true(), recordType: cons!MGP_CMN_RT_APPLICATIONSUPGRADE
Hi, Have multiple user filters configured in record. User filter values are not getting refreshed on user interaction. Scenario: User selects filter1 from dropdown and then selects filter2 to filter on two different fields. Issue: If user selects filter1 from dropdown, record list displays the subset(datasubset1) filtered by filter1 but filter2 still shows all the values in the dropdown. Ideally filter2 should show only the values from datasubset1. Is this default Appian behaviour or is there any configuration which needs to be done? Regards, Vikrant Bhardwaj.
