I think is not possible to access directly to an Informix and dataverse databases directly from Appian Cloud but do you know if is there any work around? Thanks in advance.

Before the full sequence could be executed, we have ran only: Code: appian_services_stop followed by starting it again without stopping the other components: appian_appserver_stop appian_searchserver_stopappian_services_stopappian_dataserver_stop We’d like to understand from the community: What are the potential risks or side effects of restarting only appian_services_stop? Hi, looking for some guidance on how to send Teams messages from our App directly to a user. We tried using the Teams Plugin but found we were limited by only being able to send messages with authentication Authorisation Code Grant (Delegated Permissions), this was forcing each user to individually authenticate from the app, which isn't what we're looking for. We want to send chat messages directly from a System(Application) user. (I think this is a limitation of Teams rather than the plugin itself). We have found the below link on "Activity Notifications" in Teams rather than chat messages, has anyone had any experience with this? I have a complex database view that should be converted to an Appian Data Fabric (synced records) model for performance reasons.  I am able to recreate all functionality from the database view with the exception of the string_agg() function. It looks like the only way to access fields from one-to-many relationship record is in the list view/display layer. I need the data to be concatenated and available in the data model (i.e., custom record field) so that this column can be used upstream in a parent related record type.  Is there any way to achieve this functionality in data fabrics?

Hi, I am new to using the interface component a!dataFabricChatField.  ( I've used record chat component, and that worked as expected. ) With Data Fabric chatbot, how should we implement security?  We only want the users using the chatbot to have access to recordType records that pertain to their company.  I tried using the instructions field in the chatbot component to specify which company the logged in user belongs to, but that did not work either. What is/are the best to accomplish that? Thanks.

Hello Community, Recently, our Appian environment was experiencing performance slowness. To address this, we executed the command: appian_services_stop / appian_services_start After doing so, the system came back up and was running fine with improved performance. Later, when our vendor connected, they insisted that we should only follow the manual stop order described in the documentation: 1. Stop application server 2. Stop search server 3. Stop data service 4. Stop engines They blamed our use of appian_services_stop for later issues. However, when they followed the manual stop/start sequence, the system failed to come back online and has remained down since then. My question is: Is there any risk or problem associated with using appian_services_stop / appian_services_start instead of manually stopping/starting in order? Thanks in advance for clarification.

We are receiving the below error in Mail server to database, after replacing the expired server certificates with new ones in the admin console . PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target Most of the online help redirecting to update the certificates in java key store. I don't think we did something like this earlier for certificates. Any thoughts?

Hello folks, I would like to understand the Start Process SS behavior. From my understanding, we no longer need to perform chaining inside a child process if the child process is configured as a Synchronous Start Process. Below is the configuration I applied for one of my record-related actions. Here once action is completed we re query  the audit data in the interface which is set in refresh variable and refresh after "RECORD_ACTION". But this is not working as expected. I have to refresh the entire screen to get latest audit data. But if i put chaining between start process(Write audit) and end node, page is refreshing as expected and getting latest audit data.Please let me know if it is expected behavior. Thanks in advance

Hi all, May I please ask for some guidance here? I've got three record types: Consultant  Consultant Recipients  Consultant Emails To ensure data accuracy, I want to write all records records at the same. That way if the Consultant Certification write failed, there wouldn't be an entry in the Consultant Recipients  or Consultant Emails and vice-versa. Based on the following documentation is possible to do in one single Write Records Node: https://docs.appian.com/suite/help/24.4/Write_Records_Smart_Service.html#_ But when I try this, I see the related data in the interface itself under the main Consultant record - but when I pass it in the PM the related data shows as null. In the development environment I have installed two plugins Google Maps Connected System and GoogleMaps (the latter gives me the map and direction fields components). When making the transition to the UAT environment, only the Google Maps Connected System was deployed correctly, however the second plugin was not, I checked the logs and did not see any errors, could you help me. I've got three record types: Consultant (a person, e.g. an Appian developer) Consultant Certification (certifications the consultant has, e.g. Appian Associate Developer) Consultant Audit History (audit log of changes to various parts of the consultant profile and related record types, e.g. updated a certification's expiration date) docs.appian advised against using Record Events to track changes to an individual record field (e.g. certification expiration date), so I created the Consultant Audit History record type. When the certification expiration date field gets updated, I want to add a row to both the Consultant Certification table and the Consultant Audit History table.  To ensure data accuracy, I want to write both records at the same. That way if the Consultant Certification write failed, there wouldn't be an entry in the Consultant Audit History and vice-versa. Is it possible to do this in

Hi, While trying to connect to SQL Server connected system using OAuth 2.0, the test connection is failing. i am trying to connect via service principal. Hi all, I'm currently designing a post-deployment process and I need to be able to query database tables dynamically based on the application being deployed. I’ve tried using the Query Database smart service with variables such as ac!table, but I get an error each time. I’ve also tried setting the full SQL statement in an ac! variable to create the complete query and pass it, but this approach hasn't been successful either. Has anyone encountered a similar issue or can suggest a solution to dynamically query tables based on deployment context? Any insights would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hi All, Is it possible to send custom email when the user reassigns the task using Appian default action 'Reassign' in a task instead of default email? I have a scenario where I need to send custom email for both task assignment and re-assignment. I can send custom email for task assignment (will uncheck default email), but if the user clicks on default 'Reassign' button, then no emails will be sent right, so please let me know if there is a way to achieve custom email using default Reassignment? I have a requirement where similar nested if conditions are required in multiple interfaces. So I'm trying to build a decision rule so that if there is any update required it can be done in the rule and it can reflect in all interfaces. But the outputs are list of ids which are stored across different constants for each condition. For example, If condition 1 satisfies I want the output to be constant1 and if condition 2 satisfies I want the output to be consant2. Each constant has more than 50 ids and I want the output to be in the same order they are present in the constant. While configuring the decision rule I'm able to see all the ids from all the constants and I have to manually select them for each condition and that too in the same order I want the output to be in. Is there any easier way or is there any way to give the constant directly as output? For now I have created expression rule and used a!match to make it simple but curious to know the above mentioned scenario.

Hello all! I've just started an internship as a dev and am still picking up on Appian. Currently, as part of a feature I'm developing, I've implemented an algorithm to produce a list of dates, each with consistent interval. To simplify things, I first made a helper function that produces next date based on inputs, and iterate n number of times through reduce() in the wrapper, producing following dates by feeding in previous results. This algorithm properly populates a list of dates in the expression rule test, however, there is a bit of nuance when using the algorithm to display the dates on the interface.  The problem is that the refresh condition of local variables in the helper (which is the iterated function in reduce()) is not compatible with reduce(), and the only work around is to declare each local variable as a refreshVariable() with "refreshAlways: true". We got record sync failure for all Record type enable for sync after Appian Upgrade and then we need manually sync the records. Is there any bug on this? Ideally Appian upgrade process should not have post upgrade activity of Record sync.

I can see appian is allowing to give lead developer exam directly, is that possible without associate and senior certifications. Please tell your thoughts about it.

Hi there! I am working on the step by step #5 and I am at the part where I design record types, specifically creating the W#SA maintenance record type. I ran into the issue of not having editing access in order to GENERATE EVENT RECORD TYPES, and when I tried editing my access to be an admin/editor, I believe I removed the admin group somehow, because now it is appearing as "[Group Name Restricted]." Any thoughts on how I switch this back to W#SA Admin?
