Hi! In the Appian Designer, we have interfaces with text fields that save into rule inputs or local variables. When entering in data into each of these text fields, the data is only sometimes saved in the rule inputs or the local variables. Why is the user input not saving all of the time? Has anyone encountered this issue before? Below is an example with four text fields. Text1 and Text2 save into rule inputs ri!text1 and ri!text2 both of type text. Text3 and Text4 save into local!text3 and local!text4. We are using 'Export Data Store Entity to Excel' smart service to write data into Excel files. We built a process model which copies an excel template and writes into the copy of the excel template to generate an excel file using this smart service.This smart service is pretty much doing a good job other than few issues which we are trying to find resolution. Here are couple of questions if you can help with. 1) We notice that formats maintained in the Excel template is getting lost if we write some values into that specific cell. Is there a known way to avoid this? (Please see the screen shot attached) 2) Also - we notice, in the cells, if we write numeric values, the generated excel is comming up with this 'comment' icon in cell corner. We tried to write the value as numeric to the cell. But looks like still that is not fixing the issue. Is there a known way to avoid this? hi team, we are trying to run 2 smart services in signle saveinto but one smart service is running in the backend but 2 nd smart service not working, is that validation in appian?or did i missed anything, could you please suggest me? thanks

I want to create a generic process model for update constant. I used update constant smart service as it required constant as input which is of type content constant. so i want to pass constant as process parameter. is it possible or is there any other way to do this?

Hello people! I have a problem with the dropdown component. My component is initially initialized with the value of a null variable, but when I change it to a valid value according to the range, it works normally, but when I click on the selection option (placeholder), I get the following error Could not display interface. Please check definition and inputs. Interface Definition: Expression evaluation error in rule 'interface' at function a!dropdownField [line 1098]: A dropdown component [label="Estado"] has an invalid value for "value". All selected values must be present in the choiceValues array, but value was and choiceValues was AC; AL; AM; AP; BA; CE; DF; ES; GO; MA; MG; MS; MT; PA; PB; PE; PI; PR; RJ; RN; RO; RR; RS; SC; SE; SP; TO. The variable has a null value and the component is understanding it as an invalid value. Can anyone help me?

Hi, We are using Compare and Deploy to deploy between environments where we have configured a service account so that objects will be deployed in the name of service account. However, we could see that deployment approver username also captured in design_objects.csv along with deployment service account whenever a data type is deployed. Can you please me in understanding the log behavior?

I have a main zip file that contains other nested zip files. I need to extract all these files and apply some custom naming rules to the extracted files. Here’s what I’m looking to achieve: Extract the Main Zip File: Unzip the main archive to access the nested zip files. Nested Zip Files: Perform some validation on the names of the nested zip files. I'm facing two problems: 1-When I try to extract a zip file that contains nested zip files, it doesn't extract them correctly and doesn't output any errors. However, if I include other types of documents, like .docx or .txt, they are extracted correctly. 2-How can I read the contents of a zip file (e.g., the names and types of the nested files)? I’m using a zip extractor, but it doesn't seem to offer this option. Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve these issues?

We have created an interface using a!headerContentLayout() with isHeaderFixed: if(a!isPageWidth("PHONE"),false,true) and it works great if you are simply on the page.  But if you use it in a Record Action with a Dialog box the Fixed Header does not work. Is there a way to fix this?

Hello Community, We are building an enterprise-grade BPM platform using Appian to manage various distributed banking processes such as loan applications, KYC, onboarding, and more. One of our architectural goals is to ensure flexibility and scalability, especially when dealing with multiple business domains and product types (e.g., Car Loan, House Loan, Personal Finance). In our design, we have a universal process registry (PROCESS_MASTER) that links to all BPM activities. However, each product and process can introduce different sets of business-specific fields. We want to allow for product/process-specific data entry without creating a separate CDT or database table per product. Proposed Approach: Store shared/common fields in a structured APPLICATION_DATA table. Store product-specific or process-specific fields using a DYNAMIC_ATTRIBUTES table (key-value structure) linked by master key. I have a process model that includes a script task with the following output: rule!SC_getImportPregressoPc(id: pv!index) The problem I'm facing is that I'm incrementing the index by 1 in each iteration to move to the next item, but the IDs in my dataset are not sequential. For example, I have IDs like 5, 6, 7, but the next ID might be 500 due to filtering applied by the rule, causing my process to exit early when it reaches a gap in the ID sequence. How can I configure the process to iterate over only the IDs present in my filtered list, rather than assuming a simple +1 progression? Any guidance would be appreciated!

Hi Everyone, I got this error one time "at function a!flatten [line 5]: Cannot read the array length because "<local3>" is null" in expression rule. Unable to find the root cause because local3 is not used anywhere in the expression. Can anyone please help me out.

Hello Folks, I have a requirement to display last login time for any user whenever they login to the application. As we know, it's a site page, where-in a user lands whenever they login, and a process can be triggered only with user interaction. Is there any way to implement this? Hi Appian Community, I am using Export Data Store Entity to Excel Smart Service to export DSE data in excel format using formatted template, Issue is it is overwriting the template, and suppose two user requested to generate excel, so excel doc generated has overwritten the previous users data. This issue would be fixed in case this smart service generate new doc every time using formatted template. is there any way we can fix this issue?, Please help what to do in this scenario. I have being seeking information about my problem but I haven't found the properly anwser. I have a constant as you see: I'm creating dinamic subfolders inside this folder. Inside them I'm going to create documents. In some situations I will need to delete the documents in a particular subfolder and delete the subfolder as well. I have cheked the documentation (delete folder smart service, delete document smart service) but I don't know how to use it because I need to provide a folder type in the Input variable and I haven't this type of data. I have a variable with the name of the subfolder that is dinamically generated (for instance, today's date) and I need to use this name to delete the subfolder as well. Is there any way to do so?
