I am new to the Appian platform and am currently exploring the Appian Portals. I have created a portal, but I am unable to publish it as I am being prompted to add a service account. However, I don't have access to create one. To create a service account, I believe I need access to the Administration Console, but I cannot see it in the menu. Is this limitation due to the fact that I am using the Community Edition? Does the Community Edition not provide access to the Administration Console?
I need to change the name of a field of an existing CDT to match database field. The CDT is backed by database entity whose data store has the automatically update database schema option disabled. The old column name is EMPLOYEEID and the new column isEMPLOYEE_ID.how to proceed further. 1. Download the CDT as XSD, make the appropriate changes, and re-upload the XSD, verify and publish the data store. 2. Rename the field in the record type in appian to automatically update the CDT field. 3. Rename the field in the CDT in appian. Verify and publish the data store.

Hi, I have a requirement to display a helpTooltip for a few of the controls like below "Upload any documents of type : internal / external : Draft / Final " If I place this text in the helpTooltip, everything is appearing in one row. I am currently using Smart Service "Import Excel to Database". The process works fine if I upload an Excel file with correct column headers and data values. In the excel file I purposefully changed the data values like changing a date value to a text value XYZ, changing Text value to a date value. When I upload this modified excel file: 1. The process does not error out. Process Model is showing everything as success. 2. The incorrect data did not get inserted. But my question is, how do I catch such data errors? I thought the Smart Service "Import Excel to Database" is going give some information on the errors. Please advise this. In the real world we will not have perfect data all the time. I have a process for bulk action in a grid, in which there is a MNI, in each instance it writes records to db. I want all records auto update after user submit without extra refresh. How can I achieve this? Currently only one row can be auto updated, rest of all need a refresh to show latest record

Earlier today I was helping another developer understand an issue involving links using a urlwithparameters() function. They were experience an issue where a datetime passed as a query parameter was reading out one minute behind in the linked interface. When I investigated the issue I noticed that the query parameter was showing as a timestamp; however when I ran some small-scale tests I noticed when I passed datetimes as query parameters they were formatted appropriately (see screenshots for context). Ultimately what we discovered is that their use case they were passing two parameters, one an integer ID and the other the datetime. In my testing I was initially only testing with a datetime. When I included a similar integer parameter I was able to get the odd behavior to replicate. The solution for us was to cast the other parameters to strings. We are planning to build an application using Appian that will be used by 5 to 10 users. According to pricing, we fall under the ≤ 200 users category, where each user costs $75. My questions are: Do we need to purchase licenses for each user (e.g., 5 users × $75), or is there a minimum user (threshold) purchase requirement that applies regardless of the actual number of users? If there is a minimum purchase requirement, what is the minimum number of users we would need to pay for?
All, I want to display two different messages as separate lines with confirmMessage in ButtonWidget. I tried using char(10) and char(13), but both are not working with the alert box. or is it possible to show two alerts one by one on the form submit? Thanks
I have connected to the proctor and confirmed my details related to my exam. My proctor asked me to open the camera video, but the camera froze in between the verification process. When I try index({1,2,3},{3,4},"") returns {3,null} whereas index({1,2,3},{3,4},{}) returns {3,1}. Looks like when curly brace is put in default parameter, when there is no 4th index, it goes back to start and picks the first index. i don't think this behaviour is captured in documentation either.

I had exam today due to some reason I lost my Internet Connection and proctor told to me we cant start exam due to inconsistency of my Internet and she marked it Incomplete.I have sent email on Appian Certification and Appian Support to have it rescheduled but I haven't heard anything yet. Hello,I am using Appian version 24.3, and it's a licensed environment and not community edition. I have three different environments available - Dev, Test, and Production. I am currently working on the Dev environment. I want to remove the following Appian default components from my Sites.1. Appian logo on the top right corner which has "Powered by Appian" as tooltip text. It was removable in version 23.3 but I don't see any option in the newer version. I am aware of the option to add custom logo (it is on the top left of the site), but it doesn't remove the Appian logo. 2. 'Process HQ' webpage from the navigation list. I can't find my exact issue, so I'm starting a new thread. I created two interfaces - one that shows a single survey and its answers in a grid and the user can download the data to Excel. That works fine. Then I made a copy of the interface and instead of filtering on a survey the grid displays ALL surveys and answers. However, when you try to export to Excel, I get the error "Couldn't Download - Network Issue". The number of records is LESS THAN 20 and so it's not a size issue. This happens in the DEV environment. I haven't tried it in the TEST environment because I'm not ready to push my code yet. Any thoughts why?
Hi, I'm trying to insert a timer in a process model (like that simplified in the screenshot belowe), but with the timer the chain between first and second User Input Task stop working, the second UIT doesn't appear (only in Tempo). The same behavior in a more complex process with many nodes between the two UITs What I'm doing wrong? thanks!
A very helpful addition to SAIL programming would be single-line commenting. The current block commenting method creates hassles when commenting and uncommenting chunks of code for troubleshooting, or when nesting comments, should we follow best practice and document functionality with /* Dev Notes */. We are currently unable to block-comment with single /* and */ around a section containing actual comments (nested), the first trailing */ ends the surrounding block comment early. This occurs when collapsing a large section spanning a few pages, and add these 2 lines around the collapsed section, which is sometimes easier than highlighting multiple pages for ctrl+/.
