Hi All, I have self joined Record type. Write records plugin, smartservice both are getting successful, but persisted records are not getting sync. Even though I manually sync, the data is not reflecting. See below What could be the root cause? Thanks Madhu
We display the groups a user belongs to in a read-only grid, and the data appears correctly in the UI. However, when a basic user exports the data using the default record export, the group names are not visible in the exported file.
I am using a read-only grid to show data for reports. I need to export the data to excel but the grid has more than 50 columns. I have already tried default export to excel feature and a!exportDataStoreEntityToExcel() function but none of these worked. FYI: Data is in SQL. Appian version is 23.2. Columns cannot be merged or it's count can't be reduced Is there any way I can export the data to excel?
We have a requirement to delete data from multiple records ie., almost 30+ records. Seems like we can pass data of only one record type at a time while trying to delete using delete records smart service which increases the number of process variables. Is there any optimized way of deleting data from these many number of records ?? We are trying to query each record individually since the number of records to delete at a time can be high more than 100 which is more than the number of related records that can be queried.
Hi Everyone, I am working on an Editable Grid in Appian where the grid data comes from a Record Type (Employee Request). The record also has a relationship (requestDetails) which contains fields like categoryId, typeId, and referenceNumber. For normal fields (like department or location) I can update values using saveInto with the local variable and fv!index. However, when I try to update fields that belong to the relationship object, the values are not saved and I receive errors. Example dropdown: a!dropdownField( label: "Category", choiceLabels: local!categoryLabels, choiceValues: local!categoryValues, value: fv!item.requestDetails.categoryId, saveInto: { a!save( fv!item.requestDetails.categoryId, save!value ) } ) This results in the error: The save target must be a local variable that does not refresh on every evaluation, a process variable, or a node input... I understand that fv!item cannot be used as a save target, so I tried updating using loca
Hi Guys, what is the prefered way to create and use constants in an appian application. I have created the following record types "Order", "Order Lines", "Order Type" and "Order Status". The "Order" Record Type has an orderTypeId (Number - integer) and orderStatusId (Number - integer) fields and relationships added to these tables. I have now created two constants called "CONS_ORDER_TYPE" and "CONS_ORDER_STATUS" which binds directly to the above mentioned Record Types. How would you use these two constants in eg. a dropdown list? I mean, if you create a constant of type array and add text values {"Created","On Hold", "Fulfilled"} what is the purpose to create the "Record Type" entities for the constants (Order Type and Order Status) since you can just use the data type "text" for the orderStatusId and orderTypeId fields on the "Order" record type
Hi All, Greeting! We have faced this issue with one of the users. They are able to see the requests that they created. But when they are added as watcher for records, they are receiving an email with link from that link they are unable to open the record and facing this and they have necessary permissions as viewer in the respective group. Could anyone please suggest any answer for this. Best regards, Kiranmai Palanki.
i Was getting this error in record sync Alert Details Could not sync because too many rows were updated in the source at the same time. To prevent this from occurring, limit the associated smart service or integration to not update more than 50,000 rows at a time. Process Name: [Not Available] Modified Source Rows By Primary Key: 49814, 49815, 49816, 49817, 49818 and mo
I have a table in DB. Which has column called x which is of varchar type(255). I am fetching records in Appian using a!queryentity function. I just want to exclude records which are having "" mapped for column x. I tried like below which are not working. Still its fetching the rows which are having empty string mapped for the column. Can someone help? a!queryFilter(field: "x", operator: "not null"), a!queryFilter( field: "x", operator: "not in", value: "" ) a!queryFilter( field: "x",operator: "<>",value: "")
“I was getting this error in the Record Sync History when the user synced the record from the UI, where we run the model to sync the data in batches. The error was shown in the record history, but there was no failure in the process instance. I selected the checkbox option to skip the failure in the smart service sync, and the sync failure has now been skipped. However, we still need to figure out why this error is occurring even though we are syncing the data in batches. I have a couple of table on maria DB and want to check if the table are being used or not used by Appian. Is there a way to check if the table is being used to deleted or not deleted.
Hi Community, Trying to replace store proc. plugin with executeStoredProcedureForQuery, But due to limitation it results only 1000 rows in one result set. As per the documentation a!executeStoredProcedureForQuery() Function - Appian 25.3, I have modified custome.proerties file with below settings but still not sure how I should get 10 result set with 1000 rows in each? conf.executeStoredProcedure.limits.maxRowsPerResultSet=1000 conf.executeStoredProcedure.limits.maxTotalRows=10000 Do I need to change store proc to get multiple result set? can we increases more that 10K records using conf.executeStoredProcedure.limits.maxTotalRows configuration? Thanks in advance. Bhushan
I am trying to enable smart search on a particular record type, but I keep getting "Indexing failed" errors. I'm new to this feature, so I'm not really sure where a good place to start troubleshooting is, but I've listed what I've done/noticed below and attached a screenshot of the error. I have successfully set up smart search on 2 other record types in the same environment A difference between the 2 records successfully using smart search and the one that is failing, is the primary key of the failing record is type text and can contain some symbols (periods and hyphens mostly) while the other 2 are type integer. Not sure if that's relevant or not. When performing a full sync on the record, the "total record type rows" shows that it has 2 more rows than the "total source rows", but when viewing the record list the row count is correct. I've tried changing the fields that smart search uses with no effect If anyone has s
Dear Team, We are observing an unexpected behavior related to file generation and SFTP transfer. Please find the detailed explanation below. System Configuration We have a scheduler configured to run on weekdays (Monday to Friday) with CET timezone. Scheduler timing: 22:00 CET. The scheduler triggers a subprocess that pass a file name as parameter Generates the file name dynamically using:TableName + today() The file is generated using: Export Data Store Entity to CSV smart service The file is stored in an Appian folder. The file is then transferred via: Send File Over SFTP (Basic Credential) smart service. Total files generated per run: 75 files Observed Issue As per configuration: Files are generated in Appian with date:TableName + 24022026 (24 Feb 2026)These files are correctly stored in Appian. However, on the SFTP server: Files with 24022026 are present (expected). Additionally, files with 25022026 (25 Feb 2026) are also present. These 25-da
Hi All, I'm encountering an insert error into database in the process model below. a non-null field is being fed a null value and the insert is failing! Please let me know how to debug this error. Thanks, Raj
I am getting the following error when running a process model executed by a record action: Details: Unable to write to or delete from the source due to a data integrity violation. Error Details: (conn=673325) Field 'VECTOR_CREATED_BY' doesn't have a default value I have tried assigning a default value in the table, changing the default value to a different data type, mapping the field in the record type, and have now dropped the field from the table and the error persists. Any insight would be appreciated
Hi, I was wondering what the best way would be to get row data from one or more uploaded excel files and to create new entries/rows in a specific record type (not cdt) from this data. Would the 'Import Excel to Database' plugin be a good start for this?
I am downloading database script through record types data model' generate database script. It gives both create sequence and create table scripts . In the create sequence the sequence structure is TABLE_NAME_sq. The sq value is in lowercase . But if check in the record fileds primary key edit option it's showing in Uppercase like SQ. So which one should I consider when generating scripts for deploy to other environment. The things the application I'm about to deploy in completely new and we use oracle database which I'm not familiar with so I'm confused.
Hello, I'm trying to create a relationship between two records in Appian. In the database, I have already defined the primary keys, foreign keys, and constraints correctly. However, when I go to the record type view to create the relationship and select the field from the table that contains the foreign key, I’m unable to select any field from the related record. The primary key field does not appear as an available option. Could you please advise on what might be causing this issue? Thank you.
Service backed records sync configured . Sync by Identifier Expression configured Webapi configured when external system hits appian webapi it gets synced with identifiers and able to see it on Records -> Data Preview But issue is we are not able to see it on Grid while configuring it using a!recorddata. And also sync data not showing up on view records list (default records preview)
I have an interface where collecting the information & storing in record type. Then sending this record type rule input to process model to store in db using write records However before that write records node, I need to update a few of the fields of the record type. I have tried to update the fields using the following expression, however the data which got from interface is becoming null and record type is updating only with the expression values. Can any one pick it up and shoot it?
Hello Community, I don't know if I'm searching the wrong terms to find answers in the documentation, so I'm going to lean on the community for some insight into my situation. Background: We are dealing with a rehosting scenario transitioning from Appian Cloud to another environment configured differently. I am unable to make changes to the new cloud space environment. I can only work redesign of our app. In Appian Cloud, we were the only system in our cloud space and utilized JDBC to connect to the underlying MariaDB. The new environment is a shared space. The use of JDBC is causing issues with the other tenants interfering with our data and tables. We have been asked to transition to the use of the connected system object. Questions: 1. The database was set up in Appian Cloud by a different resource. When attempting to build a new Connected System to our MariaDB, it's requesting a username an
I have a stored procedure (called from Appian’s Execute Stored Procedure smart service) that reads from a view and then creates, updates, or deletes rows in a materialized table that is also sourced from that same view. The view is heavily used by multiple applications, so I created the stored procedure smart service to read the updated values from the view and reflect them in the materialized table. This process is triggered by various create or update forms across different applications. Most of the time the stored procedure works, but sometimes it fails with the following error: Deadlock found when trying to get lock; try restarting transaction How can I reduce or avoid these deadlocks?
Hi Team, We are facing an issue when we try to fetch the data through a query entity with a specified column sorting. When we execute the expression we specify the column on which sorting needs to happen. But when we get the result back we see two sorting columns in the result set. Is there any reason that might cause this? This is causing us perfomance issues
Team, good morning! I’m facing a situation similar to some previous discussions here in the community about how to handle large numbers in Appian. I’ve seen topics mentioning Appian’s integer limit, where values may end up being converted to infinity, as well as recommendations to store certain values as text. However, my scenario is different. I’m not dealing with values that will never be used for calculations (such as phone numbers, ID numbers, zip codes, etc.). In my case, I need to store values that may potentially be used in calculations in the future — I don’t know for sure yet (the client hasn’t provided this information), but the possibility exists. This application will be used by wholesale clients who deal with very large revenue amounts (in the billions+). Because of that, I want to handle this situation as conservatively as possible. I’m using Oracle, and I defined these fields as NUMBER(15, 2), in appian it gets converted to
