Hello, I am attempting to convert this into Appian values, but I am having trouble. What would be the best way to convert this? Here is the raw response from an API: {"response":"{\"requestId\":\"123456\",\"status\":0,\"description\":\"Success.\",\"response\":{\"transactionId\":\"12241094986\",\"payfoneAlias\":\"432432424\",\"phoneNumber\":\"324324324234\",\"lineType\":\"Mobile\",\"carrier\":\"T-Mobile USA\",\"countryCode\":\"US\",\"statusIndex\":\"51\",\"isBaselined\":true,\"score\":1000,\"phoneNumberVelocity\":0,\"portVelocity\":0,\"payfoneTenure\":{\"minimumDate\":\"2024-08-05T23:59:59.000Z\"},\"phoneNumberTenure\":{\"minimumDate\":\"2024-08-05T23:59:59.000Z\"}}}&quo
Hi everyone [emoticon:c4563cd7d5574777a71c318021cbbcc8], I have scenario where my data is stored in Map/Dictionary. Now this has to be stored in record. Each field to be mapped with the respective record field.Considering the volume, Is there a way to use the Field Id to map the value.Example: a!localvariables( local!list:{{columnName:"Name",recordFieldId"4567898765"}, {columnName:"Desc",recordFieldId"4567856894"},/* Now the data to be mapped */a!foreach(locaL!list,index(record,fv!item.recordFieldId,null)) )

Hi! Is it possible to prevent removal of Record Events related to removed record? I want to have an event "XX record removed" but it seems impossible as it removes all events related to given record. Thanks, Damian
We have some fields with extra long text type in our records. Seems only 3 fields are allowed with extra long text data type and we had 4 fields. We assume this warning is coming because of the recent upgrade. Its showing warning that only 3 fields can have extra long text and its not allowing us to add any column. And we are unable to change datatype from extra long to text from record side. I changed the column from text to varchar in db side but still getting this error. Please let us know how to resolve this issue.
Hello, I'm facing a challenging issue when reading dates from Excel files using readexcelsheetpaging(). The problem occurs when Excel cells contain dates in custom format that appear as values like "2026-07-17". The Problem: When Appian reads these date values, it interprets 2026-07-17 as a mathematical expression (2026 - 07 - 17 = 2002) instead of treating it as a date string. This happens before I can apply todate() or text() functions. Context: Excel cells contain dates with custom formatting (cannot be changed on Excel side) Dates appear as format like "2026-07-17" when read by Appian Need to convert these to proper Appian date values Current Code: a!localVariables( local!document: ri!document, local!sheetNumber: ri!sheetNumber, local!startIndex: ri!startIndex, local!tempResult: readexcelsheetpaging( excelDocument: local!document, sheetNumber: local!sheetNumber, pagingInfo: a!pagingInfo( startIndex: local!startIndex,

O/P - 1 O/P - 2 O/P - 3 When I directly query the comments table with a filter to fetch comments where the audit is null, it returns the expected results(O/P - 1). However, when I apply the same filter in a related record query from the main test table, it does not return any comments(O/P - 2). Interestingly, if I remove the audit filter, the related record query returns the correct data(O/P - 3). Any idea what could be causing this issue?
Hi All, We're executing load tests on our testing environment. We notice that during the high peak, simple operations like write or query records take longer to execute (2-4 sec). The CPU memory utilization of the instance is very high too. The records are light weighted and not heavy to take this long. Any ideas as to what might be the cause of this slowness and how to debug this? Regards, Sakshee
Hello, I have a record action which shows "Add comment" and after completing/adding the comment details the record action should get updated to database or record. But it is not refreshing dashboard or interface. Only after page refresh page only it's refreshing but not immediately after the action submission. a!columnLayout( contents: { a!recordActionField( actions: a!recordActionItem( action: 'recordType!{6d2a7f52-9952-4737-bb95-d3f3a29c06ac}PIMS Project Details.actions.{4e341a40-54be-42c6-ac1e-7e52004c1fca}comment', identifier: ri!projectDetails['recordType!{6d2a7f52-9952-4737-bb95-d3f3a29c06ac}PIMS Project Details.fields.{dedeac6d-7da7-4635-82db-b4816e2daa36}projectId'] ), style: "SIDEBAR_PRIMARY", display: "LABEL" ), }, Thanks, Chiranjeevi
Hi all, I am working on an existing project that uses records, where I am used to CDTs. This project utilizes one central record type of "metrics" and each metric has metadata (fields), some of which is tied to other record types with one-to-many and many-to-one relationships. I can't include pictures, so writing out the general set up in dummy code: Record Type: Metric Fields: id / integer metricName / text ... riskType / integer User Filters: metricName / a!recordFilterList(...filter: a!queryFilter(field: Metric.metricName, operator: "="...)) riskType / Risk Type.value Record Type: Risk Type Fields: id / integer value / text The relationship: Metric.riskType = Risk Type.id The "Risk Type" field is a many to one record type relationship with the Metric record type, and is selected via the front end in a single dropdown. I would like to change this to a multidropdown, but was unable to change the field to take multiple integers. I created a
Read Only grid is working in Dev and test environment but in preprod it is giving error that {something like UUID } field does not exists. I have tried to comment all grid columns and uncommented one by one. Two Grid columns are giving error. But I am not able to find out why. As same Record Fields are used multiple places in interface and its working as expected there. Only in Grid Column its giving error.
We have deployed a table to higher environment and used in required objects to perform operations, we want t o add 2 columns to it . How can we achieve this , also will there be any impact on the objects as its already in higher environments .

We are updating an old application from CDT/DSE to Record Types. In a certain process a parent record is written, then child records are generated with foreign key values for the parent and they are written. This is all done with the existing CDTs and DSEs. The data propagates to the new Record Types as desired. However, we have a business critical sync filter on the Child record type that is intended to prevent certain statuses on the parent record from allowing anyone to find related children. This filter is not being applied by the data propagation feature. Believing that perhaps it was a syncing issue, I tried using the Sync Records smart service in various combinations with both the Parent and Child records. Syncing the Child records, then the Parent, then I tried the Parent first and then the Child. Nothing worked. It is my belief, that the Sync Records smart service is not sourcing the Related record when applying the sync filter.

Hi, I'm trying to create a user filter in a record that filters a combination of 2 fields. I've tried to use a!queryLogicalExpression() inside a!recordFilterListOption() for the filter and didn't work. Is there any other way to do this? My other option is to create an interface with this filter but i think it would be better to have it as a user filter in the record. Thanks, Ignacio
Hi All, I have a web service record type with some related actions, currently I'm facing an issue when I click on the record action on an interface, the record action consists of a very long form , but what I believe is triggering the error are the paragraph fields, some have a character limit of 500, and 3000, but when the record has empty values the form shows as normal or when the sum combined of the characters of the fields is less than 1700 it also opens as normal, as soon as one of the fields is more than 1700 characters or one is 1300 and the other field is 500 the interface is showing an error with no details. I checked the main data type of the form the length for each field is correct. "An Error has occurred" is all it says. If anyone has seen this before I would appreciate the help thanks!
Has anyone run into this error before? We have a rule that calls a stored procedure given an input, then returns results. One day a user ran into an issue where the SP was returning null, but the next day the SP was returning results. We've done no code changes, so I took a look into the logs and found this error: Where it says Error Msg = ORA-01013: user requested cancel of current operation. However, I know the user ran into this on the UI only and didn't cancel anything on the backend. It also seems like it was not a timeout issue since upon checking rdbms logs, the execution times were very low. Does anyone have any suggestions on what this might be or what we should look at for further investigation?
context:I have 3 interfaces that communicate with each other, What I need to do is give users the ability to open a project and from the project detail interface have a button in related action that opens another interface that allows the user to add employees to the project. This is the path they take:"GP_ProgettoInterfaccia" > "GP_ProgettoSummary" > "GP_CreateOrUpdateGPprogettoAnagrafica"here all in order:[View:/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/16/GP_5F00_ProgettoInterfaccia.txt:233:29]>[View:/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/16/GP_5F00_ProgettoSummary.txt:223:27]>[View:/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/16/GP_5F00_CreateOrUpdateGPprogettoAnagrafica.txt:335:25]. Historically, we’ve used Data Sources and Custom Data Types (CDTs) to manage our data integrations. As we transition to using synced records for our new application, we’ve encountered a challenge related to schema access in SQL Server. Currently, our SQL Server Data Source is configured with a username that has access to the database. However, any synced record created under this data source only has access to tables within the default schema. Our data model spans multiple schemas within the same database, and ideally, we need to connect tables across these schemas within a single synced record. One workaround is to create separate data sources for each schema, each using a different username. However, this would require maintaining multiple data sources for the same database, which adds unnecessary complexity and overhead. We’re seeking guidance on the best way to configure our SQL Server connection so that synced records can access tables across multiple schemas wit
I have a readonly grid with a record as a source. This record Lets say "Main Record" is having a relation ship with other record - "Related Record". Grid has fields from both records. When Applying filters I want to avoid getting records from "Related Record" which are not active. Lets take below sample data of "Related Record". Relationship is one to Many. ID_MainRecord Division Is Active 1 Sports 0 1 Study 1 I have applied filter as a!queryFilter( field:Main Record.Related Record.Division Operator: = Value: "Sports" ), a!queryFilter( field:Main Record.Related Record.isActive Operator: = Value: true ) Still I am getting one record in Grid I am expecting no records at all. And the record I am getting is having "Study" in division grid field. How can I get it work. Some how how the first filter is not working as "Sports is there in the relationship field I guess. Thanks in advance for your atten

Do you know if there's a maximum limit on the number of record types that can be created in an application? I have a database with 700 tables, and I'm not sure if Appian can create this many record types, or if I need to create an architecture that only creates the main tables. Thanks!
