Hi everyone,I am looking for architectural and design recommendations for building a common Application Landing Page in Appian. The Setup:I am building this landing page within a separate, standalone "Common/Core" application. Because this is a centralized hub, I, as the developer, do not have design-time access to the downstream application groups. Furthermore, when new applications are deployed in the future, this landing page needs to automatically accommodate them without requiring code changes.Requirement:The landing page must display a dynamic list of applications. Crucially, an application should only be visible to the logged-in user if they belong to that specific application's personas/security groups. Because I cannot hardcode or directly reference these group objects, the solution must be fully data-driven or dynamically resolved.Questions for the community:What is the best-practice design pattern for this? Should we use a database-driven approach where applications register

Hello EveryoneI am New to Appian with Zero knowledge and i have to finish my associate developer exam can anyone help with how to prepare and where can i find flashcards practice exams or can anyone share certification questions/

I have configured a start node that with a receive message trigger that essentially captured information from an email. I have configured all the proper fields but I the "Attachments" field does not seem to work. Documentation has not been particularly helpful in this case.  I have a PV of type Integer that can also handle multiples and the following is mapped to that PV: property(msg!properties, "Attachments", null) When I send an email to the process using its UUID, it captures all the fields correctly except for the attachments. Is my configuration incorrect?

Appian Family,  Here is my Interface -- JR_InterfaceName 1) File Upload field in an interface >> Define the Target Folder with all correct permissions. 2) Submit Button: "submit" set to true. I have 2 scenarios here 1) Just the interface by itself is just working fine when I upload the file and click submit. It gets save to the target folder. 2) When the same interface is either called from another interface as rule (rule!JR_InterfaceName) it doesn't work. The file is not saved to the target folder. I am pretty sure the document object is there but it's just not available to either save in a target folder or for anything else. What is it that I am missing? is it an Appian shortfall/Issue? I am assuming that this is very basic need for almost everyone. 3) Just to play around further I called a Process Model using "saveinto" property of the button passing some dummy variables and the Document Uploaded from the upload control, The PM got call

HI everyone, I’m having a nested CDT that takes quite some times to query data. Thus, I though replacing it with query sync records using relationships between them can be a more time efficient solution. Below is how my record query looks like: a!queryRecordType( recordType: 'recordType!AAA CF Check List Instance SR',filters: a!queryLogicalExpression(operator: a!defaultValue(ri!filterOperator, "AND"),logicalExpressions: ri!logicalExpression, ignoreFiltersWithEmptyValues: true, filters: append({a!queryFilter(field: 'recordType!AAA CF Check List Instance SR.fields.isactive',operator: "=",value: ri!isActive),a!queryFilter(field: 'recordType!AAA CF Check List Instance SR.fields.checkListInstanceId',operator: "in",value: ri!id),a!queryFilter(field: 'recordType!AAA CF Check List Instance SR.fields.checkListId',operator: "in",value: ri!checklistId),a!queryFilter(field: 'recordType!AAA CF Check List Instance SR.fields.entityId',operator: "in",value: ri!entityId),a!queryFilter(field: 'recordType

Choosing the right topic can make the research process much easier. I usually look for a subject that has enough reliable sources, clear research questions, and room for discussion or analysis. Some students may consider whether to pay for research paper assistance, but I think understanding the research process and developing your own ideas is an important part of academic work. What factors do you consider when selecting a research topic?

Hi everyone! I last worked with Appian in 2023 for around 9 months, and I’m starting my Appian learning journey again today. Could you please share what major changes, new features, or development approaches have been introduced since then?

I have created the Table as shown above. When I am trying to create the Interface from FORM DATA TYPE  by selecting the BUILDER, Iam not able to find my table name in the drop down as shown in below SC.What will be the reason.

The Appian environment language was switched from English to Spanish via the console. The problem is that label names have now disappeared from the processes, and the interfaces included in "User Input Tasks" have vanished. Why is this happening, and how can it be fixed—given that the language must remain Spanish (we cannot revert to English)? I have 90 processes; is there an automated way to handle this?

Hi Everyone,I have configured my Claude account with Appian Dev MCP in my Appian environment. I’m now able to create, update, read, and delete applications and their objects using natural language through Claude.I would like to understand how these Dev MCP interactions are audited in the Appian environment.Currently, I can see that the Design Object Logs capture object creations and modifications performed through MCP, along with manual changes made through the Appian Designer.System Logs --> audit/  --> design_objects.csvIs there a separate log or audit mechanism specifically for tracking Dev MCP interactions? If so, could someone please point me to where I can access or configure these logs? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi everyone,I am trying to implement a seamless "Audit and Redirect" feature across different Appian sites in the same environment. As a developer, I do not have direct access to all the target sites, so I am storing their URLs dynamically in a database lookup table. My Current Approach:From an interface, the user clicks a link component. This invokes an Integration object that calls a custom POST Web API. The Web API triggers a!startProcess() to write the audit data to a table. Upon process start (onSuccess), the Web API attempts to perform a HTTP 302 redirect by passing the target lookup URL into the Location header. The Issue:The audit data is successfully captured in the database table every time. However, the browser does not redirect the user to the target URL, and the user remains on the same page. Here is a snippet of my Web API onSuccess configuration:onSuccess: a!httpResponse(  statusCode: 302,  headers: {    a!httpHeader(      name: "Location",      value: http!request.headers

Hi Folks, I am using Appian AI Skill to extract the data from a pdf document. I uploaded multiple documents in the same batch and some of the documents are failing and giving the below-mentioned error.  Did anyone face the same issue or any insights into it? Your help is much appreciated.

Hi All, We have a requirement where we need to automatically save data to DB from site page if user is not performing any action for defined time. Please make a note that we looking for a solution which would save data without any user interaction.Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks!Mayur Mondhe

Hi , We are working with email data where the email body can contain around 46,000 characters. In Microsoft SQL Server, the complete email body is stored and displayed correctly within a single row. However, when we export the query results to a CSV file, some email bodies are getting split across multiple lines in the CSV output. This appears to happen only for certain emails containing large amounts of text, line breaks, or special formatting.Has anyone encountered a similar issue when exporting large text fields from SQL Server? Is this expected CSV behaviour due to embedded line breaks? Are there any recommended approaches to preserve the email body as a single field during export? Has anyone faced related challenges when importing such CSV data into Appian?Any insights or best practices would be appreciated. Thanks!

We have Appian on-premise and we have a requirement to create a page where external users can access it (users are not Appian Users) and Appian Portals are the best to achieve it. However, being On-premise, the portals are disabled and we are not able to enable the portals. Any suggestions or alternatives to achieve the requirement.

Hi All,I have a requirement like theuser can map multiple fleet types & cost for 1 equipment. we are displaying the picker field where the user will choose equipmentId from some master table, they can select 1 equipmentid at a time. then an editable grid will be displayed below, to add/modify fleet types & cost. Now the challenge is i am getting index issue during save, If there are any existing mapping for respective equipment id, then when user selects the same equipmentId from picker, then editable grid should display existing mappings and user can add new rows also. If not, then user can add new mappings. For existing mapping they can change the cost alone or JE type alone, which needs to refreshed. Also when they not change the cost type, then instead of adding new row in DB, update in existing row for other field like dollar amount, updated by,updated On If they removed existing cost type, then change is_Active = 0 for those rows in DB.Need like below screenshot, and i have

I am looking for some advice on achieving the auto save functionality within the Appian interface.

Hi,  We have a requirement to migrate approximately 18 million records from an external system into an Appian Cloud database. We are currently considering the following approaches: Export data from the source system and import it directly into the Appian Cloud database. However, we noticed there appears to be a file size limitation (around 2 MB per import file), which may make this approach challenging for such a large volume of data. Use an Appian Process Model with the "Import CSV to Database" Smart Service to load the data in batches. I would appreciate guidance from anyone who has handled a similar large-scale migration:Are there any practical limitations or performance considerations when using the Import CSV to Database Smart Service for very large datasets? Is there a recommended approach for handling data volumes of this size in Appian Cloud? What is the best way to implement logging and audit tracking so that we can monitor successful and failed records during the migration p

I have a integration where I need to pass some data plus documents via API to Appian. Any idea how to do both, I know how to do it as separately but not sure of combined.
