I have in my Record Types two fields, Created By and Modified By.  Both of those data types are set to user.   They are also linked to the Appian User. I have a Process Model kicked off by a Portal.  I would like to get the initiator of the process to be saved into one of these two fields.  I have used: pp!initiator - From the Process Properties pv!processUser - This is a process variable of User type that I created by saving the pp!initiator to pv!processUser touser(pp!initiator) touser{pv!processUser) "PMSO_ServiceAccount) - the text value of the portal User Name for Service Account.  I verified that the User Name does indeed exist and is the account that runs the portal. touser("PMSO_ServiceAccount") In all of these cases, I got the process error (Could not cast from User to User. Details: CastInvalid) (Data Outputs)!!!  This works in all other areas of the application, just not in the process model kicked off by the Portal.

Hi people, I have requirement where i need to find the X path of an XML file. We have functions to retrieve a value using the X path. But our requirement is retrieve the X path instead of the value, So that the user will use that and cross verify the xml file whether its matching. Here is an example. I want to add a certain number of zero to the left of an integer number and save it to an Integer rule input..I was using text(value,"0000") this function which gave me exact format but when I save that to an Integer variable , all zeros had been removed. Hi Community, I'm working in a project where data ingestion is very important and we get data from csv files. The problem I have at the moment is that with the plug in ps-plugin-ExcelTools in particular with the smart service Import CSV to Database I need to set the charset input (e.g UTF-8 default or UTF-16). Due to the fact that I could receive files in both encoding format, the question is: Is there any solution to get the encoding of a file?  I find a solution saving the document in Base64 into Db and analyzing the string obtained. Hi! I have 2 related tables that I have access to BUT do not own. Let's say the 2 tables are Recruiters and Members.Recruiters has an interface showing recruiter records. This is the entry point of the portal.I want to have a column in the Recruiter interface that holds links to the Members interface. The Members interface must show records in the Members table depending on the value of multiple columns of the recruiter row clicked.Take note that I do not control any of the 2 tables so I cannot make the "blessed way" of using those columns to build a composite primary key. I need a way to pass those column values to query and filter the records in Members table and display them in Members interface.How do I structure this UX / logic in "idiomatic" Appian?

I have a record configured to sync data with an on-premise table using a 'SQL Server Data Source' connected system to connect to the database. Due to changing requirements, I’ve disabled the scheduled sync in the record type and deactivated the user ID on the SQL Server to prevent data fetching. However, I still see authentication requests to the server, which I believe are from the connected system object. Is there a way to disable the connected system without deleting it?

I'm setting up an embedded interface using my local Appian installation as well as a local web application running on a local tomcat server. When accessing my web app I am prompted to log into my Appian account as expected but after providing credentials I get and error to enable cookies. I made sure my chrome settings were set to allow third-party cookies and tried again with the same error. Does anybody know what I need to configure to get past this error?

Hi , I want to know the character limit that the Appian Private AI (GEN AI) - Document Extraction. I've uploaded a document with table value of 43 rows. But in the response , I can get only 30 rows as incomplete. I have altered the prompt also, but its not the problem. I've searched about the character limit of Extraction , But couldn't able to find it ..  Can anyone help me with this matter?

As title says are there any way to check who has deleted the version of specific process model, or is there any way to prevent users from deleting the process model version?

Hello I have a template that I have created where one sheet is "protected" so that it can only be edited with a password. When I use the "Copy Document" smart service, that protection remains in the copy. However, when I use the Export Data Store Entity to Excel smart service, the protection goes away. Is there any way to keep this protection or some other way to make a sheet read-only within Excel upon completion of the Export Smart Service? Thanks

Good afternoon, I need to create an Any Type variable in a process to maintain the format. For example, I will send rule!example from the source and I want it to be preserved. It works between rules with Any Type variables, but I can't do it in the process. Does anyone know a way to create Any Type variables in a process? Thank you very much

My user input task has multiple upload files fields and multiple fields. The user should be able to submit each file field without finishing the task. How should that be done if always after submission, the task just is done? By the way the submituploadedfile() is not available for tasks.

What to know if we can prevent multiple schedulers from firing when the server is down and then restarted? In our case we are using End User Reporting module, which has a time interval based Scheduler which runs every 15 mins. Our application servers are down outside office hours. If there is an notification schedule during the outage time, then on server startup the notifications get sent out 100 or more times, due to all the missed schedulers firing again on startup. For the fixed time schedulers we have used Advanced Condition on the timer to fix this problem. But we cannot use the same for a time interval based scheduler.

Hi  We recently encountered the following alert in the Operations Console:“You have robot(s) using an outdated auto-login service. Please reinstall the robot(s) to avoid disruptions. The outdated version will be unsupported in a future release.” However, we have already updated to the latest versions: Agent Version: 9.14 Java Version: 17.0.12 Has anyone else faced this issue, and if so, what steps were taken to resolve it? Any insights would be greatly appreciated. or agent re installation will work? Thank you!

On an interface, I am setting the following validation using regular expressions. The format is [3-digit number] - [4-digit number]. Therefore, for example, if I enter a phone number like "080-0000-0000" here, a validation error will occur as shown below.Naturally, when I press the button, it doesn't submit and it stays on that page. However, a phenomenon occurred where nothing was submitted and the page changed.Since it cannot be reproduced, it is difficult to determine the cause.Do you know the cause? I have a documentDownloadLink, when user click on the link, it always calls a white screen and last for few seconds, after white screen disappear, the document starts download. Is the white screen expected? Or can it be overcame somehow?
