Hi Appian Community,I am currently automating an Appian application using FitNesse v25.2 and have encountered an issue with tab navigation. The tabs on the page were developed using the a!tabItem() component. While executing the automation, I am unable to click or switch between tabs through FitNesse. Other UI elements on the page are being identified and interacted with successfully, but the tab controls are not responding to click actions.Environment:Appian Version: 26.6 FitNesse Version: 25.2 Component Used: a!tabItem()Issue Details:Tabs are visible in the UI. FitNesse is unable to perform click actions on the tabs. Standard element identification methods do not seem to work. No explicit error is displayed, but the tab selection does not change. Tried with ClickOnText, ClickOnAction etc, but nothing seems working.Questions:Has anyone faced a similar issue automating Appian tabs built with a!tabItem()? Is there a recommended locator strategy for these components in FitNesse? Are there

Does anyone know how to read the first line of a CSV? I have tried the readcsvlogpaging() function but it only works for files that are in the logs directory, and the readexcelsheetpaging() function does not work for CSV documents. Any ideas? Thanks!

We are trying to build CICD using Github and Github actions. Could we get help around setting up Github for Appian.

PurposeThis article describes how to use archived KDB files to restore the engines in the event of KDB corruption. This may be necessary if the live KDB files being used by the engines are corrupted or unusable, and reverting to a backup of the Appian installation is not possible. One example of a possible scenario where this may be necessary is if the index of each KDB is extremely low, indicating the original KDB files were lost and new KDB files were generated. The index of KDB files can be confirmed by viewing their filenames. This will also be apparent in service_manager.log in lines such as the following.YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS,mmm [engine-supervisor-groups-0] INFO  com.appian.komodo.engine.Gw1Initializer - kdb files found in …/server/personalization/gw1: [ag3.kdb(Created …, size 1.4 MiB)]InstructionsSelf-Managed Appian on KubernetesExec into the Service Manager Pod for the affected engine: kubectl -n <NAMESPACE> exec <POD> -it -- bash Stop the affected engine:./serviceMan

I am exploring different ways to make digital workflows more efficient, especially when a process involves both Appian and external online tools.Sometimes a workflow may involve collecting information, processing files or media, and then saving the results for later use. I have also been researching simple online tools such as SanpTikk.io for saving TikTok videos when offline access is needed. My question is about how others approach these external tools within Appian workflows.Do you usually connect external services through APIs, handle them outside Appian, or use another approach when there is no direct integration available?I would be interested in hearing how experienced Appian developers handle this kind of workflow while keeping the process simple and reliable.

How to integrate Appian to GIT

Hello everyone!I started the Learning Path recently and I'm having trouble in Step #1 (version: 26 Build an Application: Step-by-Step #1).When I try to create a New Group (W0239ER Support Supervisors), it always says "Name already exists". This note appears on all objects in the W0239ER application.” → “Not in this Application”   Did anyone have the same issue? How can I fix it?Thanks :)

Hi everyone,I've been exploring workflow automation and was curious how others approach repetitive business processes.I work in medical billing, where a typical workflow can involve insurance claims, follow-ups, documentation, spreadsheets, emails, and status updates. A lot of these tasks are repetitive, so I've been thinking about where automation could actually save the most time without making the process unnecessarily complicated. For those using Activepieces, what would you automate first in a workflow like this? For example, would you use it for: Sending notifications when a claim status changes Moving information between spreadsheets and other systems Creating follow-up tasks automatically Connecting forms or webhooks with internal tools Generating reports or summaries I'd also be interested in hearing which Activepieces integrations or features you have found most useful for business workflows. What automation has saved you the most manual work? Thanks for sharing your expe

I like the Designer Appian Dev Agent to double check my implementation ideas, but a minor annoyance is that for a given project it needs to reload every past conversation which can take a while. Maybe there are logs or cookies per project somewhere that can be removed?  If I select ‘New chat’, then leave and return, it loads all past conversations again.I feel like I might be missing something as we received 26.6 a few months ago and this was a new feature in that.

I am using the Import Excel to Database plugin along with a Connected System to download Excel files from a client’s Google Drive. Here is the behavior I am observing: When the Excel file is created using Microsoft Excel, the file is downloaded successfully via the Connected System, and the plugin works as expected. All the data present in the Excel file is imported correctly. However, when the Excel file is created in Google Sheets, or when an existing Excel file is opened/edited and saved using Google Sheets, the file is still downloaded successfully, and I can see the complete data in the file. But in this case, the Import Excel to Database plugin treats the file as null and does not return any data. In both cases, the file extension is .xlsx. Is this a known limitation of the Import Excel to Database plugin when handling .xlsx files generated or modified by Google Sheets? If so, is there any workaround or recommended approach to handle Excel files comi

We are refactoring reports to replace the deprecated Export to Excel plugin. The export output relies on a shared base export template. We need to identify the best replacement approach that preserves the existing output format. Any suggestions?

A service backed record syncs data in batches but its behavior is inconsistent, any idea where to check the logs what exactly its passing for each batch or any api calls its doing to fetch the data during run time?

I tested the option to create test cases in an expression rule using Appian DEV MCP. The test case output type should be “Any Type” and the expected value is a Map.I identified multiple issues:The AI agent (Claude) executed createExpressionRuleTestCase and updateExpressionRuleTestCase tools - the expectedOutputType was saved as Expression. When I look at the test in Designer it is displayed as on picture below. The test fails in designer. I can click on the Clear link (next to the value) to reset the value. When I paste the value displayed here, it is accepted by Appian designer as valid and the test pass. runAllExpressionRuleTestCases fails correct Any Type tests with EXPECTED_OUTPUT_TYPE.I created a test case manually in designer (and it pass). When AI agent executed runAllExpressionRuleTestCase, the MCP reported the test case as failed. This is the line from the run:"name": "Test case 4: Map","success": false,"testErrors": [{"type": "EXPECTED_OUTPUT_TYPE", "details": "T

Hi everyone,I am looking for architectural and design recommendations for building a common Application Landing Page in Appian. The Setup:I am building this landing page within a separate, standalone "Common/Core" application. Because this is a centralized hub, I, as the developer, do not have design-time access to the downstream application groups. Furthermore, when new applications are deployed in the future, this landing page needs to automatically accommodate them without requiring code changes.Requirement:The landing page must display a dynamic list of applications. Crucially, an application should only be visible to the logged-in user if they belong to that specific application's personas/security groups. Because I cannot hardcode or directly reference these group objects, the solution must be fully data-driven or dynamically resolved.Questions for the community:What is the best-practice design pattern for this? Should we use a database-driven approach where applications register

Hello EveryoneI am New to Appian with Zero knowledge and i have to finish my associate developer exam can anyone help with how to prepare and where can i find flashcards practice exams or can anyone share certification questions/

I have configured a start node that with a receive message trigger that essentially captured information from an email. I have configured all the proper fields but I the "Attachments" field does not seem to work. Documentation has not been particularly helpful in this case.  I have a PV of type Integer that can also handle multiples and the following is mapped to that PV: property(msg!properties, "Attachments", null) When I send an email to the process using its UUID, it captures all the fields correctly except for the attachments. Is my configuration incorrect?

Appian Family,  Here is my Interface -- JR_InterfaceName 1) File Upload field in an interface >> Define the Target Folder with all correct permissions. 2) Submit Button: "submit" set to true. I have 2 scenarios here 1) Just the interface by itself is just working fine when I upload the file and click submit. It gets save to the target folder. 2) When the same interface is either called from another interface as rule (rule!JR_InterfaceName) it doesn't work. The file is not saved to the target folder. I am pretty sure the document object is there but it's just not available to either save in a target folder or for anything else. What is it that I am missing? is it an Appian shortfall/Issue? I am assuming that this is very basic need for almost everyone. 3) Just to play around further I called a Process Model using "saveinto" property of the button passing some dummy variables and the Document Uploaded from the upload control, The PM got call

HI everyone, I’m having a nested CDT that takes quite some times to query data. Thus, I though replacing it with query sync records using relationships between them can be a more time efficient solution. Below is how my record query looks like: a!queryRecordType( recordType: 'recordType!AAA CF Check List Instance SR',filters: a!queryLogicalExpression(operator: a!defaultValue(ri!filterOperator, "AND"),logicalExpressions: ri!logicalExpression, ignoreFiltersWithEmptyValues: true, filters: append({a!queryFilter(field: 'recordType!AAA CF Check List Instance SR.fields.isactive',operator: "=",value: ri!isActive),a!queryFilter(field: 'recordType!AAA CF Check List Instance SR.fields.checkListInstanceId',operator: "in",value: ri!id),a!queryFilter(field: 'recordType!AAA CF Check List Instance SR.fields.checkListId',operator: "in",value: ri!checklistId),a!queryFilter(field: 'recordType!AAA CF Check List Instance SR.fields.entityId',operator: "in",value: ri!entityId),a!queryFilter(field: 'recordType

Choosing the right topic can make the research process much easier. I usually look for a subject that has enough reliable sources, clear research questions, and room for discussion or analysis. Some students may consider whether to pay for research paper assistance, but I think understanding the research process and developing your own ideas is an important part of academic work. What factors do you consider when selecting a research topic?
