Hello all, Is there a function or process within Appian to store and specific value for every user? (Similar to session variables in.Net,) the use case is: We have a dropdown with general values in our main page, so depend on the value selected all the subsequent pages needs to take care of that value. We want to store that value selected for every user in his own session. I did some research to use constant, but for this we need to create constant in sail code (in appian it's no possible, only update), it's not a good approach. Another thing that we discuss was to pass the value as a rule input in every object (interfaces, query rules, Process Models, etc) not sure if its a good approach since the user can go directly to other pages (saved as bookmark) even if no value is selected, but it's a must for our app. Another approach that we are thinking it's storing the value in a "customfield 1" but the function doesn't work "a!updateUserProfile()".

Hi.  On write to datastore for overwriting an EXISTING record I am getting the following error.  ids for this class must be manually assigned before calling save(): I see plenty of posts saying enable autogeneration, but don't feel this is appropriate given no autogeneration should be occurring on this entry and it already has a primary key filled in. If such a thing did work after enabling autogeneration, it seems to me that would mean something is going wrong and a completely new Entity is being saved. Am I wrong in this understanding?

Hi All,          I couldn't see generated emails in our DEV environment as this is blocked by our admin. Surprisingly , I can test emails only in Preprod environment.  Is there anyway by which I can check the generated HTML like saving it  into to a process variable in custom output like the screenshot below.  FYI , I am using html templates in the email. Any help or comments will be highly appreciated Thanks in Advance, MikeMiracle  

When I submit a form with a dependent dropdown fields, it stores the ID in the database... I want to store the value or text that I chose... I followed this: https://docs.appian.com/suite/help/22.3/recipe-configure-cascading-dropdowns.html  HOW I DO THAT? please help

Hi, here from line 515 if condition is executing but it's showing only highlighted one not the remaining conditions. it has to show the remaining list of data but not showing what might be the reason for that

Hii all, we have 3 teams in my building portal they are 1vendor , 2buyer and 3internal team and the intrnal teams have 3 other sub teams called IT1 and  IT2 and IT3,  normally when a vendor raised a request  for pricing change for a product then it will goes to buyer team , he has the power to reject or accept or send it to internal teams ,  now the 1)rule is if the  current product price is 10% more than previous price then this  should get approval from all the teams from internal teams called IT1 and  IT2 and IT3  2) if the the  current product price is 10% less than previous price then this  should get approval from teams IT1 and IT3 only 3) if retail price is more than cost price then it will get approval from IT2 only note:  when buyer forward the request to internal teams above mentioned actions should take place could you please  tell me how to achieve this decision mapping and business rules i

Is it possible to capture the page level action?    Eg : When submit button is clicked - We get - "Action Completed" Message or Eg: When submit button is clicked - "Field 1 is a required field" How do we capture the messages? 

Both the a!startProcessLink and a!startProcess functions state that the "processModel" parameter accepts "a constant referencing the process model or a process model UUID" However, when we try to pass a constant of type Text with a process model UUID to the processModel parameter, we get a generic "The process does not exist, has been deleted, or you do not have permission to start it." When we pass a constant of type Process Model (using the same process model) to the procesModel parameter, we are able to start the process as expected. Do these two functions still accept UUID in the processModel parameter? If so, what are we doing wrong?

Hi, I'm trying to dynamically display a!datefield based on multidropdown values.  If user has selected 2 values from the multidrpdown component, then I should display 2 datefields for user to select dates. I'm trying to do this with a!foreach , however I'm not able to store values. Can you please help me with this? HI,  I'm trying to use Delete Rule/Constant Versions smart service to delete rules from a specific folder, I was able to execute the node perfectly, but the versions of rules/ constants are not being deleted.  Can someone suggest on what needs to be done? Hi everyone,  I have a scriptask which create an output of type text by running an expression rule, which looks like below:  I save this output into a process parameter, then plan to use it for the sub-process.   If I want to take the updatedRelationship of the current process instance, what the script should be like?  I tried below code but the data does not pass into sub-process... do I need tp!instanceIndex for the process to know what data to pass into its subprocess? index(pv!scriptaskOutcome,"updatedRelationships",tp!instanceIndex, null) Thank you!

I have a list of group names to remove from a user: pv!toRemove = { "PROFILE 1", "PROFILE 2", "PROFILE 3" } And the following Process: The MNI for the Remove Group Members is configured as follows: As node input, I have to provide the users and the group to remove. For the user I'm simply using touser and providing it the username. For the group I was using a!groupsByName(index(pv!toRemove, tp!instanceindex)) The problem is that the function a!groupsByName returns a list of groups and the input expects only one group. Even if the list has only one item, as the type is wrong, it will fail. It will run the first instance and remove the "PROFILE_1" group, but the subsequent instances will fail because it tries to remove "PROFILE_1" again as the variable will not update anymore. To fix this, we just need to make the return of a!groupsByName return a single group, I'm using index to achieve
