I am getting weired error while saving data to records. I have a table which has onlly three not null column. I am passing values to all of them. But I am getting constraint violation error for createdby_tcxt which is not even not null. I passed value for it as well. I checked DB structure, checked records many times. Even I am getting data into the process model to update. The error is like " Data constraint or integrity violation: the createdby_txt field doesn't have default value. Anyone has any idea why I may be faving this issue.

Hi, I am looking to set up this configuration in Appian and I'm not sure how to approach this. I am designing a task manager application where a single task can be assigned to multiple people. So in the interface form, it will list generic task details such as task name, description, due date, and who the task needs to be assigned to. If I assign it to Alice, Bob, and Charlie, then I want to create three tasks with each one assigned to each individual.  <Interface form> Create a single task to "Do Laundry" and assign to Alice, Bob, Charlie. <Data store> 1 - Do Laundry - Alice 2 - Do Laundry - Bob 3 - Do Laundry - Charlie This way I can see if each person has done their task. I assume I need to use a for each loop somewhere in the process model? How do I code this in the process model to create X number of tasks and write X number of records?

In many cases, we have to do join other than primary key for the tables as same can't be configured with sync Record type and ultimately, we need to depend on  Database views and we loose many capabilities of Sync Record type

I'm trying to write into a record and earlier it was getting written but now it just pauses indefinitely at "write record " node. no error nothing , no discripancy in data too

I understand that Record Types are generally preferred over CDTs in modern Appian development. However, apart from plugin compatibility (some plugins only support CDTs), are there any other real advantages of using CDTs over Record Types? In what scenarios would choosing a CDT be the better or recommended approach compared to a Record Type?

Hello! I'm wanting to create a Synced Record Type for Salesforce objects for use within Appian. I successfully created the connected system for Salesforce, but when I go to create an Integration using the Salesforce Connected System, I'm unable to get pagination to work correctly. The SOQL response shows the "nextRecordsUrl" and the first batch of records. However, after playing with the expression rule for the Record Type, I'm still unable to get the Integration to know that it should query the "nextRecordsUrl" instead of attempting the same SOQL query. Essentially, I can't get pagination to work. Has anybody had success building out a Synced Record Type for Salesforce records without building out a custom HTTP Integration, but instead relying on the standard Connected System? Any help is appreciated!

Hi, I have a read-only grid with the selectable parameter enabled. Lets say as a user i select 2 or 3 rows in a grid and then when i try to filter the data using the user filter, is there a way to unselect the existing rows ?

In my application, I am trying to associate the same document with different Activity IDs. However, when I go to the documents section, I get this error, which seems to indicate that it is impossible to manage the same document ID on different activities. However, the relationship is 1 document, many activities. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Hi everyone, We are planning to connect Appian to an on-premises SQL Server environment. Due to security and network restrictions, Appian developers do not have direct access to the on-premises SQL Server. As a result, we are unable to directly inspect table structures or view data stored in the database during development. To support smoother development, investigation, and testing activities, we are exploring whether it is possible to view and reference on-premises SQL Server data from Appian. Specifically, we would like to understand the following: Is it possible to synchronize or replicate data from an on-premises SQL Server to the Appian Cloud Database? We have a database table where we store a reference to a Record Type (it could be the Record Type name, UUID, or a string like "()"). The requirement is to convert this stored value into an actual Record Type object at runtime so that it can be used in expressions or interfaces. For example: cast( 272, " 'recordType!{b12345-12345-12345-12345-c12345}ABC' " ) Is there any built-in function or best practice in Appian to achieve this dynamic casting?

I am trying to use a create new record action to insert a new record into my table and based on the grid I am showing to the user they only can see records associate to an related record. I would like to be able to pass in the primary key for that parent record into the record action so I can default that field to use that value and not allow the user to associate to a different parent on accident. It is possible that there is not data in the grid but I would still know the primary key of the parent record to pass in.

When creating or editing a record type, you can see the URL of the record list. How can I read this so that I can create a link button to the record list for the user? I don't want to see a single record, but the complete list. Some of the queryRecordTypes are working slow for us in prod. I am trying to monitor the performance and it has something 'performanceView.breadcrumb.recordQuery' highlighted. What does that mean and what part of the query/record it points to? Any idea Also, Appian do recommend using queryRecordType to get the data from the related records too but when I have filters and logical expressions applied to them they are performing slow.

 I have a user filter with multiple dropdown and the drop down contains duplicate names of amendment but their application type and Line of business is different so there are duplicate names . Is there a way to find all appian objects and its dependencies in a appian application  and export into excel so I can do analysis well before starting development with a team of 10 appian developers. We are at 24.3 version.

Hi everyone. I have added fields to an SQL Server table. I have refreshed the associated RecordType to add these new fields. Now when I create a new record I face this error (in the "Nombre" field for example): I suposse the recordType have not been refreshed properly but I don't know how to do it because I have sincronized many times. When I experience this problem I usually remove the recordtype and create it again but this workaround is not nice. Do you know how to do it properly without rermove it? Thanks in advance.

Which function do we use to remove a particular field from a record before persisting it? For example: recordType!sampleRecord1( id: null, column1: A, column2: B, column3: C, column4: D, column5: E, column6: F, column7: G, column8: H, relationA: recordType!relationA( id: null, column1: A1, column2: B2, column3: C3 )) I want to remove the id field from both sampleRecord1 and relationA before persisting them. Reason: The downstream database does not handle id: null well, but if the field is missing or field have a value, it works fine.
