Hi Com, I have tried to install RPA Agent in my laptop. However it shows greyed out in the taskbar. I followed the steps mentioned in the documentation-Intalled java 17 Changed system environment variable. My doubt is, if i wish to not opt for enable automatic sign in, i will not select the checkbox. I have directly installed the agent and run on laptop. But it is greyed out.Any other prerequisite that i am missing? is there any other framework or software needed to start the agent?
When I am running RPA it is failing and saying it is failed to delete the file after copying it to the given location. Please help me with the possible cause and fix
Appian RPA agent not coming online in spite of the satisfying the conditions about Java environment jdk 17. It used to be up but suddenly stopped working triedreinstallation as well.
I have created a new robot in Operations Console and the robot is "Online". When I am trying to open this robot, it is throwing error as "ArrayIndexOutOfBoundException". And the Robotic task also cannot execute and says "Robot_Not_Allowed". Why this is happening?
So in the above pic i have an interface where i gave the user an option where he can select or reject a candidate. And when he clicks select a candidate, a mail will be sent to the candidate saying he has been selected for the job and when the user hits reject, a mail will be sent to the candidate saying sorry you have been rejected. So i created this process model and kept 2 emails for the both different mails. Is this the correct format or am i missing something. Can someone Please guide me through this.
I have created a Robot in Appian RPA and it comes online. At the end of the day when I turn off my system the robot goes offline and the next day, in order to bring it back online I have to download the new installer and install it again. Then only robot comes online. Is there any way we could bring the robot back online without having to download and install the installer again every day?
Hi everyone, I'm working on a Robotic Task in Appian RPA that performs the following steps: Opens a browser and accesses a web portal. Enters credentials (passed as text input). Navigates through some pages and downloads a file (PDF). Accesses the local folder where the file was saved. Currently, after downloading the file, the robot uses Upload Document to upload it to Appian as a Document. My question is: Is there a way to pass the downloaded file directly to the process model without using Upload Document? In other words, I’d like to avoid explicitly uploading the file to Appian and see if it’s possible to return it directly to the process model as a file in memory or temporary file reference using the output data tab of the robotic task. Has anyone dealt with a similar scenario? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
Hi, I have created a Robotic Task and I am able to save data from some attributes in variables of Robotic Task. I have created a process model and called "Execute Robotic Task" smart service to run this task. I want to get this output variables from my robotic task in my process model variables. How to do that?
I have to open a web page as RPA Task and scroll down to click on an icon to extend the additional info. Upto scroll down to that particular section, it is working fine. But I am not able to click on the add icon to extend. Can someone guide me with the configuration.
I created and RPA to upload a document(CSV File) from a Virtual Machine to Appian. Everything works fine when I run the RPA manually, ie select execute from the robotic process. However when the RPA runs as part of my process model, I get the following error. [ERROR] 2022-11-14 17:55:06 - - Error code APNX-1-4530-023 with message "The document cannot be uploaded because the storage limit exceeded, you do not have privilege or the document name is not unique." found for resource /api/v1/uploadDoc[WARN] 2022-11-14 17:55:06 - - Method manageException invoked I'm sure it must be some security setting in my Process model, but I can't figure it out. Any ideas?

Hi, I'm using the Open Browser action in Appian RPA to launch a legacy web application. Occasionally, the website may be down, and when that happens, the bot execution fails with an error like "unable to navigate to URL." In such cases, I would like to trigger a notification (ideally an email) to inform the support team immediately about the failure. My questions are: Is there any default mechanism in Appian RPA to send notifications (like emails) on task failures? If not, what’s the best practice to implement an email notification when an action like Open Browser fails? Any guidance or examples would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.
In UIPath we have reFramework (dispatcher, performer, reporter) and the queue/orchestrator splitting the work between bots. Can somebody please point me to a similar way of doing it in the Appian Academy? Thank you so much.
Hello, good morning. When I try to execute my Execute Robotic Task node, I'm getting the following error: "Creation of the Quartz job for robotic_task_remote_smart_service_EXECUTE.311_0_#be has failed." Does anyone know what might be causing this? Thanks in advance!

While I've finished the Java component, I'm unsure how to integrate or put those into Appian RPA. It would be great to get some insights on best practices and common challenges from someone with experience in this area. I tried to follow the Appian RPA documentation, but somewhere felt like lost. Could anyone with experience incorporating custom Java code into Appian RPA offer some guidance? Thanks, Bharathwaj RK
I am using an RPA smart service within my process model.I pass through data to the RPA Smart Service which a bot will run to retireve data from a 3rd party application. PolicyNumberThe goal is to pull that information (policyNumber) out of the robotic task to use in the rest of the process model. At the moment the bot successfully captures and stores the data in the Variable, but on the Process Model side, it is still showing 'no value'. The result of the variable on the robotic task after a successful run:Any assistance on helping to retireve this text string or even persisting this data would be greatly appriciated.
I am not able to enable the RPA agent from my system, I have followed all the instructions mentioned in appian documentation like JAVA_HOME setup, Certificates everything. One time it got enabled and and after that I am not able to enable it again so I have tried uninstall and install several times but no luck. Hello,I am implementing a robot that performs user validation on an online portal. Upon completing the validation, it should press the button to save changes. When I run this robotic task from the object, it works correctly and saves the changes. However, when I execute it from a process model, which runs a previous robotic task before this one, the page gets stuck, showing that the changes are being updated, but nothing is saved. The process hangs. I have already implemented mouse movements and 12-second pauses, but nothing has worked. What do you recommend doing? Could the portal be implementing some kind of validation to detect bots? Thank you.
Hi, I have a task with a requirement for a robot to be able to skip captchas. I have installed Chrome extensions for the bot to skip captchas, but that extension does not work on some types of captchas, as it does not skip text captchas and requires that text to be typed correctly. I have tried to follow the image recognition steps taking into account the calculator's number recognition practice (Tutorial: Use Image Recognition (RPA)), but it fails me as it is not able to recognize it. Could someone help me or can you think of another alternative regarding bypassing captchas?Thank you very much.
It is regarding image recognition I store image of 8,+,5,= so as per pdf it should be excused in calculator and answer would be 13 but it is not executing and that why I am not able to complete this lesson Facing the issue after completing the all steps provided by Appian Document Anyone Guide me how can we resolve this....
How does RPA agent connect/communicate with orchestration server ? Is there any specific ports need to open - considering the agent is internal to company's infrastructure and the appian is in cloud..
Good dayI have robotic process, that uses the e mail to send notifications and retrieve information from the mail body or the attachments. Today by the morning, i am notified that the robotic process arent reading the mail. i'm Using this dependency com.sun.mail javax.mail 1.6.2 I'm using this process:public ArrayList getTodayNewEmails() //throws Exception { //EmailInfo toReturn = new EmailInfo(); local_server.info ("Obteniendo los correos nuevos de hoy..."); ArrayList messagesList = new ArrayList(); Properties props = System.getProperties(); props.put("mail.store.protocol", "imap"); props.put("mail.imap.auth.plain.disable", "true"); props.put("mail.imap.host", host); props.put("mail.imap.port", ""+port); props.put("mail.imap.ssl.enable", "true"); props.put("mail.imap.starttls.enable", "true"); props.put("mail.imap.auth", "true"); props.put("mail.imap.auth.mechanisms", "
Hi, I have a very simple robotic process that works fine. It opens and reads an Excel file stored in specific local folder and reads some cells values. The path of the Excel file is stored in an Apian Constant and I use the "Open or create Workbook" Appian service to open this file. My new need would be to make the selected folder path dynamic because I need a user to be able to select a directory from an Appian Interface before to call the robotic process. I've tried to use the a!fileUploadField fonction to select my Excel file, but I don't see how to get the local directory (the component gets only the filename and the new document ID). Is there any way to get this local file path? Otherwise, does a best practice could be to not use a local path, but to save the Excel file in the Appian repositiory first (the Robotic process would open the Appian document, and not the local file) ?My scenario does not need to store the Excel file in Appian, so I
