I receive the following email when resetting the password from the Appian Console or using the "Forgot Password" option from the login page. "We recently received a request to reset your password. However, it is not currently possible to reset your password because your credentials are maintained by another system. You should contact your site administrator if you need to reset your password or if you did not expect this email." Please help on to reset password.  Thanks, Umesh Kumar

I am trying to find an answer for the below question : Can we capture the user activity in Admin console or designer page even if the user is not changing anything there . If the user just explore the admin console pages like maintenance window , user start pages ,etc. and they are not making any changes , Is this activity also captured in the logs and if it is which log should I find it? Thanks in advance for the help!

There are "System Groups"   in Appian and General groups(All Users, Administrators )  which we create for security purpose .  Just wanted to understand on which scenario we can go for each of them . Is there any real time difference .

Actually, I had my passwords correct for the login, but I don't know for what reason I have been thrown up a message that my password/username is invalid. So, I tried to reset my password. When I'm trying to reset my password, I am getting a pop-up that my password reset link is expired even though I have opened the link right after I got the mail. No matter how many times I tried, I am getting the same issue. In the end I'm neither able to logon nor reset my password. Can anyone help me out.? NOTE:- I am new to appian. Don't have much experience with appian.

Once a user gets designer access, then it can create applications but I would like to have more control over that so then I want to give access to designer but not allowing all designer users to create applications (they would only be able to create objects within the applications they have been granted access to). 

Hi,     We have a requirement to clone the OnPrem environment to GCP. Has anyone done this earlier. Does Appian has any documentation or utility for the same?

The user_management.csv is missing in our distributed environments. I cannot locate it on any server (app, engine, search). In standalone environments, the log file exists. I compared <APPIAN_HOME>/deployment/web.war/WEB-INF/resources/appian_log4j.properties and <APPIAN_HOME>/server/_conf/logging/log.properties and there were no discrepancies regarding this log file. Has anyone else had this issue? 

We have a process responsible for sending emails to the client company from two different domain email addresses. I'm utilizing a custom sender, and replies are also directed to this from address. However, in the mail properties, the 'mailed_by' field still displays the Cloud Environment URL and the from as well it is showing Via cloud Url. Is there any workaround for this issue? Ideally, the receiver should only see the 'From' address in all instances.  

Hi all,We have a deployment account in QA having system admin access. For some nodes, we are using lane assignment as "Run as whoever designed the process model". In one of the nodes, we are retrieving data from a record but due to some reason, data is not being retrieved(that PV is empty). Same code is working in dev but not in test. The only difference is In dev, it runs with my name and in QA, it runs with the deployment account name. Even though its a system admin account, should it be added to viewers group for retrieving data? Is there any missing piece over here?

Hi there, I just want to know if it's possible to have multiple authentication methods (ie SAML and OpenID Connect) for the same cloud instance? At the moment, 98% of our users use SAML authentication with just one Identity Provider and the remaining 2% use Appian native connection. In the near future, we will setup a second SAML IdP for a future app we are going to build as these users don't use the existing IdP we do. For yet another future app, the potential users will be authenticated via OpenID Connect. Is this possible in our Cloud instance to have both authentication methods, SAML and OpenID Connect? We will make sure that no user will be in multiple authentication groups. Thanks.

Hi there, Can anyone let me know the procedure how to get the access to the Appian platform? I'm new to the Appian platform. I tried in my community edition site to get the access but I got the message as "Unfortunately we are unable to provide you with an environment at this time". So, can one help me out?

I have a question about system groups.This is an issue within the environment managed by the organization.I want to add the interface I created to the design library, but I don't have permission. When I looked into the documentation, I found out that it needs to be added to the "Design Library Editor Group". When I selected a group object from the list of objects for the entire environment, the corresponding group did not exist. I tried adding a group object within the application I want to use, but no permissions are attached. Which steps should I review? Hi All  I have a requirement user wanted remove some user from entire Env Like Dev Env so i have deactivate the user account and remove from Groups and inactive that from database also Sync record.  and we have one UI where we make search bar filter in the search bar we used pickerfield. I have done all these process that i have explained in the above. and when i go to search bar still i am getting user name that i have already deactivate from appian account remove from groups and inactive from database. Can you tell me how we can fix this issue.

I have a robotic task that gets triggered from the smart service node in Process model. I am providing some details with respect to the bot so that I can get help exactly where we can improve the performance.Robotic task -> The robotic task receives an excel document, downloads it (download doc step), then it has to open the doc, and perform some excel actions(Sort,Find value,Filter etc) that we have configured using excel actions. The catch is that the bot first needs to check which action is it that it needs to perform (so we use if expression true to confirm the action, since this comes from the process model + DB).Now we have robotic sub tasks as well since there are close to 40 actions, therefore we have divided them.Configuration --> Download > Open workbook > Select sheet > Loop in actions > Pick first action > Run if expressions (present in sub bots) to confirm which action it is > Apply action > Will check other action until comes out of loop after e

Hi All, We are working with on-premise version of Appian (23.3) which is hosted on a private cloud. When I run load test on my environment process models are taking more time to complete (ex: 35 mints to complete).we increased process and execution engines also but still having latency. each node is taking around 2- 3 minutes to execute , even a simple is null logic also taking same time.  We have done the health check but could not see any major issues. Any suggestions to debug this issue would be greatly appreciated. Note : Load test time we are not running any background Process Thanks in advance.
