hi, My team wanted to build a common library/application i.e. Global_CaseManagement where the application will be exported to 2 instances for 2 regions to share (similar to a common library), i.e. UK_Bank  and US_Bank.Let's name the rule as rule!Global_GetNextCase which used within a node by a common global process model namely ACTION - Get Next Case Given the rule Global_GetNextCase will have different logic for UK and US, what would be the recommended way to do the common rule override?The dependency graph as below :1. Good morning, I am trying to locate the file appian_log4j.properties, but I am unable to reach the path /deployment/web.war/WEB-INF/resources. I am working from an Appian Cloud environment. Could someone please guide me on how to get there or where to find the information? Thank you very much

Hello , Any best practices around how do we manage objects which are not required anymore ? Specially when those objects have been previously deployed to production.  Is it a best practice to delete such objects ? If this could be an option , then such objects could be easily deleted in the development environment but then how do we promote the deletion to high environments ? Or someone will have to manually delete them in the high environments ? Thank you.

Hello All, We have a use case where we need to restrict Appian users that have access to Appian designer to not to upload a certain file type extensions like executable files for example. We've tried to restrict by adding extensions to block on admin console but it is only restricting on Sites and portals but not on Designer. Note : We need to apply restrictions on create new document file upload component and import application file upload component. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I receive the following email when resetting the password from the Appian Console or using the "Forgot Password" option from the login page. "We recently received a request to reset your password. However, it is not currently possible to reset your password because your credentials are maintained by another system. You should contact your site administrator if you need to reset your password or if you did not expect this email." Please help on to reset password.  Thanks, Umesh Kumar

I am trying to find an answer for the below question : Can we capture the user activity in Admin console or designer page even if the user is not changing anything there . If the user just explore the admin console pages like maintenance window , user start pages ,etc. and they are not making any changes , Is this activity also captured in the logs and if it is which log should I find it? There are "System Groups"   in Appian and General groups(All Users, Administrators )  which we create for security purpose .  Just wanted to understand on which scenario we can go for each of them . Is there any real time difference .

Hello all, currently I have 3 org, dev, QA, and prod.  I have made new inserts in a cloud data base table in the dev environment.  Given that the same table in the QA org have the same 14 entries as the table in dev org, what would be the best practice to deploy the update from said table from the dev to QA org.  Any help would be appreciated.

Actually, I had my passwords correct for the login, but I don't know for what reason I have been thrown up a message that my password/username is invalid. So, I tried to reset my password. When I'm trying to reset my password, I am getting a pop-up that my password reset link is expired even though I have opened the link right after I got the mail. No matter how many times I tried, I am getting the same issue. In the end I'm neither able to logon nor reset my password. Can anyone help me out.? NOTE:- I am new to appian. Don't have much experience with appian.

Once a user gets designer access, then it can create applications but I would like to have more control over that so then I want to give access to designer but not allowing all designer users to create applications (they would only be able to create objects within the applications they have been granted access to). 

Hi,     We have a requirement to clone the OnPrem environment to GCP. Has anyone done this earlier. Does Appian has any documentation or utility for the same?

Over the pass few years much has changed for data structures within Appian, specifically with record types and custom data types (CDT). There does not seem to be any official documentation on how to convert an application designed using CDTs to one using records. While CDTs have not been entirely fazed out but rather relegated to support with plugins and smart services, it is often more performant and (based on Appian documentation) preferred to build using record types.  My questions are: For larger "legacy" systems is there a significant benefit to converting the existing CDTs used in process models, interfaces, rules, etc. to record types? Is there a fast and efficient way of converting these types from CDT to Record.

The user_management.csv is missing in our distributed environments. I cannot locate it on any server (app, engine, search). In standalone environments, the log file exists. I compared <APPIAN_HOME>/deployment/web.war/WEB-INF/resources/appian_log4j.properties and <APPIAN_HOME>/server/_conf/logging/log.properties and there were no discrepancies regarding this log file. Has anyone else had this issue? 

We have a process responsible for sending emails to the client company from two different domain email addresses. I'm utilizing a custom sender, and replies are also directed to this from address. However, in the mail properties, the 'mailed_by' field still displays the Cloud Environment URL and the from as well it is showing Via cloud Url. Is there any workaround for this issue? Ideally, the receiver should only see the 'From' address in all instances.  

Hi all,We have a deployment account in QA having system admin access. For some nodes, we are using lane assignment as "Run as whoever designed the process model". In one of the nodes, we are retrieving data from a record but due to some reason, data is not being retrieved(that PV is empty). Same code is working in dev but not in test. The only difference is In dev, it runs with my name and in QA, it runs with the deployment account name. Even though its a system admin account, should it be added to viewers group for retrieving data? Is there any missing piece over here?
