DRAFT KB-XXXX Search server fails to start with "StreamCorruptedException" error

Symptoms

Search-server fails to start with an error of the following type:

[WARN ][org.elasticsearch.transport.netty] [Node localhost:9500] exception caught on transport layer [[id: 0xe02114e6, /127.0.0.1:46664 => /127.0.0.1:9500]], closing connection
java.io.StreamCorruptedException: invalid internal transport message format, got (16,3,1,0)
 at org.elasticsearch.transport.netty.SizeHeaderFrameDecoder.decode(SizeHeaderFrameDecoder.java:63)

Cause

This can happen due to the lack of disk space on the server which hosts the search-server.

Action

Add disk space and restart the search-server.
