Failed to enable Plug-in 'People Functions' due to "The following function(s) are already registered in the system:"

Symptoms

When trying to install the People Functions plugin, the plugin will fail to enable throwing the following error:

ERROR com.appiancorp.plugins.LoggingPluginEventListener - Failed to enable Plug-in 'People Functions': 'The following function(s) are already registered in the system:'

Cause

The functions listed in the error already exist in the environment due to either the Group Management or Group Functions plugins already being installed.

Action

If on-premise, have the system administrator uninstall the Group Management or Group Functions plugins.

If on cloud, contact Appian Support to have the Group Management or Group Functions plugins uninstalled.
