How to check if -static domain is configured correctly in order to use Document Viewer Component (DVC)

Purpose

Starting Appian 18.3, in order to use the Document Viewer Component (DVC) a static domain needs to be correctly configured as mention in the documentation. This article outlines how to confirm whether or not the static domain is configured correctly.

Instructions

  1. Navigate to <AppianStaticURL>/suite/rest/a/content/latest/docview/a.
  2. Using browser developer tools confirm if HTTP 200 response is returned. If yes, the static domain is set up correctly.
  3. If HTTP 200 response is not returned:
    1. For Appian On-Premise environments, begin the troubleshooting process by checking the web server configurations. Ensure that along with the FQDN, static and dynamic domain are handled properly by the web server as mentioned in the documentation.
    2. For Appian Cloud environments, open a support case with Appian Technical Support.
