KB-1294 a!submitLink field in a task is clicable even when the task is not accepted and a "You are not the owner of the task" error is thrown when clicking the link

Symptoms

If a task 1) is assigned to a group, 2) has a submit link field (a!submitLink) in it, and 3) has not been accepted yet by any user, the submit link is still clickable.

If the submit link is clicked before the task is accepted, the following error message is observed:

Task Cannot Be Submitted

You are not the owner of the task

Even after accepting the task, clicking the link produces the same error.

It is expected that all fields would be disabled before the task is expected.

Cause

This issue has been addressed via AN-77353 in the following hotfixes/versions:

• Appian 19.1
• 18.4 Hotfix Package D
• 18.3 Hotfix Package G
• 18.2 Hotfix Package J
• 18.1 Hotfix Package L

Action

Apply the latest hotfix to your Appian installation or upgrade to the latest version of Appian.

Affected Versions
