This article outlines how to make remote calls to external sources which are hosted behind a Proxy server.
Making remote calls to end points which are hosted behind a Proxy server is currently not possible using out of the box Appian smart services.
However, you can achieve this using the Send HTTP Request Plug-in custom plugin. Following is the link to the plugin:

Once you deploy the plugin, you can use the smart service "Send HTTP Request" found under Integration Services --> Connectivity Services.
The plugin allows developers to enter a proxy host and proxy port if proxy settings are necessary.
