When trying to start the data-server users may see the following error:
'sse 4.2 or later'
This is a known issue with the version of the data server shipped in Appian installations. This version of the data server requires the sse 4.2 instruction set which is a flag supported by modern CPUs. Older CPUs or ones that don't support sse 4.2 will not be able to run the data server by default.
Open a support case with Appian Support to request the correct version of the data server. The zip file provided by Support will contain the q binary and an updated q.k file. Simply override the existing q.k and q binary in the appropriate OS directory.
This article applies to Appian 18.1 and later.
