FitNesse scripts fail to run with the following error observed in the application server log:
Caused by: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: XX.X is not a recognized version
The FitNesse version must be equivalent to or greater than the Appian version. For example, FitNesse 18.2 can run on Appian 18.2 or an earlier version of Appian but it cannot run on 18.3 or any later version of Appian.
Install the newest version of FitNesse.
This article applies to all versions of FitNesse.
