Dynatrace interfering with Appian components

If you are using Dynatrace to monitor your Appian environment, it is important to note that Dynatrace can introduce unexpected behavior in Appian. Dynatrace automatically injects a JavaScript agent into Appian HTML code. We have seen this result in client side issues such as:

  • package import or inspection not responding
  • generic errors thrown when clicking on Alerts, Process History, or Process Details in /designer
  • file upload in Admin Console not working
  • Tempo not loading properly

If you are running Dynatrace on an Appian environment and discover issues like the ones mentioned above, please disable Dynatrace as a troubleshooting step.

If this does not resolve your error, create a ticket with Appian Technical Support.
